Blood Glucose numbers with APS
Just wondering as my Primary care Dr. recently ran blood tests and said my Glucose readings were slightly high at 120 or so. I have altered my intake of Carbs and Sugar quite a bit and was curious if having APS and taking Warfarin is affecting my Blood Glucose numbers at all? Age 69 and have had APS

Any Strategies For Controlling Blood Sugar While Taking Thyroid Meds
I am not a diabetic. Before having my thyroidectomy my glucose levels never rose above 82. Controlling by morning blood sugars have been especially difficult, maybe due to taking the meds at 6am while the "Dawn Effect" is still present. Do anyone exercise in the mornings before taking their meds

Anion gap redux, potassium?
Recently i saw on here a discussion of low anion gap. I tried searching on HU but only found posts by people talking about other diseases, so clearly not the post and discussion I recall. Can anyone direct me to that discussion? If not, can anyone summarize the significance of low anion gap? Just

Anyone tried Berberine?
I think this is the wrong place to post, but not sure where to as it's both related to PCOS, T1D, Insulin resistance and Infertility, some of which are related/conditioned by Hashi.. So, basically was researching recently and discovered that Berberine may have very positive effects (in some studies

Happy Friday the 13th and in chemo bay #13 now 😁
Hey y'all, Another Cabazitazel session, getting 12 total to put me at 33 chemos in 7 years this July PSA ticked up 0.1 to 2.5 last time 🤔 MO may do PSMA scan and biopsy any large enough lymph nodes, if PSA continues upward. Still on Lupron 3 every months, and doing Intermittent Fast for 16 hrs/day

Recipes for fatty liver?
Hello. My husband was just diagnosed with fatty liver. All the Dr. said was to eat a low fat diet and that it can be reversed. He still has to have a flex scan done and he has an appointment with a dietitian next week. But I was wondering if anyone has some recipes or ideas for food until his appointment

Another interesting insight from a doctor - this time Dr Nadir Ali at a “low carb down under” conference.
This doctor has realised that the medical profession needs to listen to its knowledgeable patients in order to make progress. Yay!! Here is his first slide. The last word - on the next slide - is “buggy whipped”. For anyone interested in the benefits of a low carb high fat diet, and the reasons why

Fighting Prostate Cancer with Exercise and Diet (Part 1)
“If you have higher levels because you’re physically inactive or maybe a bit overweight, or maybe you don’t have the best
diet
, those high levels will sometimes lead to
diabetes
, sometimes lead to heart disease, and sometimes they lead to cancers.

How do you manage(enjoy) your food when you have Hashimoto’s/ hypothyroidism?
Hello everyone, I have been a strict gluten free diet since January. As a result, I feel less bloated. I don ‘t know if it’s the levothyroxine or the gluten free diet but I can eat eggs, garlic ( sorry, I’m French) again. I couldn’t eat eggs or garlic for a few years. It’s still very new for me, I eat

The link below give good information: https://www.kemdiabetes.org/Paper/272%20Confessions%20of%20a%20thin-fat%20Indian.pdf Only 5 pages. In page 5 a photo gives compassion. Controlled diet, eating habits and exercise can help to control type 2. Controlled diet, low carb food and avoiding free sugar

Gluten Free for almost 7 weeks
Hi, I've now been strictly Gluten free for almost 7 weeks, and taking Levothyroxine 50mcg for about 5 weeks. I'm due to go back for some repeat bloods in a few weeks to see how my thyroid levels and antibodies are doing. I don't know if I've noticed any improvements or not from being Gluten free, it's

Can anyone please tell me if seeds are good or bad for under active thyroid? I’m so confused as I have been reading that they are really great for you and then the next article tells me that they are really bad for you? I have a cupboard full of chai, linseed, pumpkin, sunflower seeds etc! Help!

Where could I get a genetic test done for B12 non absorption please?
I am coeliac but have been oob a strict gluten free diet for years. But although blood tests for B12 come back normal or sometimes over normal, I have the symptoms of low b12. I already have the Gio2 gene from both parents. Also another one from each that makes me prone to certain cancers. So I wonder

New study from the CAPS2 (Carbohydrate and Prostate Study 2) team. led by Steve Freedland. "Accumulating evidence suggest a role of gut microbiota in urologic health including prostate cancer (PC), potentially via its impact on intestinal permeability (IP). When the gut microbiota community is disrupted
