2020 has been hard, here’s a little motivation
My biggest weight was 390 lbs back in 2016. In 2018 I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, lost my job as a school bus driver and almost lost my family. Between that time I lost about 40 lbs from stress and everything else going on. I had left to be with my blood family and got

Keto, or just healthy eating?
I'd be very interested to hear other people's opinions about whether or not to go the Keto way of eating as I've heard that some people swear by it. On the other hand I've heard of some people who have become quite poorly after being on it for a couple of weeks. For the record my ESR is currently

Cure for NAFLD within 1 month (confirmed)
Hey guys. It’s been a while since i posted on this site. If you look at my previous post, you will see that I have reversed NAFLD last year. This year I gained 30LBs and my liver enzymes went high again recently . But again with proper diet and exercise, I was able to bring it down to normal range.

Dietician Plan which makes sense for me....
Spoke with my GP following dislocating my kneecap last week (needed stronger pain relief). And after a conversation, she referred me to the new onsite dietician the practice has hired. Well - I didn't hold out much hope, as previously they have said it's all about the calories and suggested low fat

How to proceed?
Around 2017 the debilitating hypo symptoms started up. LDL cholesterol was flagged high and my morning blood fasting glucose started to rise by ten points (still within range), while terribly hyper/hypoglycemic all day. Before 2017 I recall living and functioning normally but looking back now I remember

How can type 2 diabetes be cured?
I found this article and thought it would be useful tips for all of us. Type 2 diabetes can be reversed and cured, but, in order to understand how it can be reversed, you need to understand how type 2 diabetes starts. Our pancreas makes a hormone which is known as insulin. Insulin is responsible for

All the tick boxes for GCA with ringing in the ears?
Hello everyone, After nearly three weeks since the preliminary diagnosis for GCA and taking 40 mgs Prednisolone, temporal arteries are still pronounced though not so tender and I have some sort of tinnitus. Should these symptoms still be present after 17 days on the Pred? My ultra sound of the head

Scientists hail earwax test for checking stress hormone levels
Over the years there has been much discussion about how to measure cortisol. Interesting to read about a new approach. Certainly has the singular advantage over blood testing of being straightforward to get the sample. Not sure quite why they seem to emphasise depression so strongly. I'm sure low cortisol

Help with vitamin levels - Blood test results
hi all, just had my blood results back and feeling a bit disappointed that my vitamin levels seem to have all gone down (with the exception of vitamin D). Also despite my GP requesting T3 this wasn't done by the labs. Should i get this done separately now for my own records or wait till my next bloods

Blood glucose levels higher
Anyone taking Eliquis had their glucose levels get higher? Mine has gone up since taking this. Never never ever have I had my glucose over 100. Normal is between 70-100 for non-diabetics. My level has always been very good. In the 70's. Last labs I had before starting Eliquis it was 79. Very good. In

Soul food: chicken and waffles
I gather this is a classic American southern/soul food dish. I have never had it, but enjoyed a keto version this evening. It was delicious. The elements were a sweet syrup made with erythritol (an ingredient I tried for the first time today), chicken "breaded" in pork scratchings, and keto waffles,

Diabetes & Insulin Resistant - Are you Insulin resistant ?
Diabetes is not just an issue of blood sugar , it is a complex metabolic disorder causing a host of complications. If we understand it well, we can have a better control and even we may be able to reverse it if we treat it holistically with change in various aspects of our life style... Insulin Resistance

Hello This month in our ‘Health in Focus’ posts, we’re looking at diet. Often, people diagnosed with cancer make changes to their diet because they want to support their health.
