Blood test results and some other questions
Hi, I have my latest blood test results and I am unsure if my thyroxine dose is slightly too high. I'm on 75mcg a day and my tsh is 0.5 (range 0.9-5.0) T3 4.6 (range 4 - 8.5) T4 16.6 (range) 10 - 24). I don't have any typical symptoms of being over medicated, no anxiety, palpitations etc, the only thing

a-Amylase
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/interpro/potm/2006_2/Page2.htm Microorganisms, higher plants, and animals produce a large number of different protein inhibitors of a-amylases in order to regulate the activity of these enzymes. These inhibitors can be grouped into six classes based on their tertiary structures

He advises my B12 is low therefore I am to do nothing and he will test again in one month and if it is still low i will have injections for two weeks on alternate days then once every three months. I'm new here. I need help with lab results and what to say to endo consultant
I had Graves' disease just after I turned 22 and had RAI treatment nearly a year and a half after diagnosis. I have been on levothyroxine for 15-16 years before an endo consultant put me on T4/T3 trial last year March. I managed to get a copy of my latest blood test results yesterday to bring with me

Healing beta cells without drugs
Can improved diet, stress reduction, and/or exercise heal beta cells? If “resting” them is important,
eating fewer carbohydrates should give them a chance to recover.
Another way to take pressure off beta cells is by lowering insulin resistance.

Baloo the Bear.
Here's a rather inspiring story. But before reading it should be emphasised that this person was diagnosed as a T1 diabetic, where there is NO insulin present with a non functioning pancreas. If anything his story should inspire you as a T2, as in all likelihood your pancreas can be returned to functionality

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Low-Carbohydrate Diets
Typically, a low-carb diet will be high in fats. There is no obvious reason to compensate with higher levels of protein. Ansel Keys fudged his data in the 1950's (the Seven Countries Study) to implicate saturated animal fat in cardiovascular disease. What followed was the dominance of corn oil & other

Blood test results - help needed.
I have had 3 blood tests; Full Blood Count, Liver Function Test and Fluride Glucose done recently and need help to interpret them. I can see a couple of results in bold saying "High" or "Low" but my GP said everything is normal. Have the results included my thyroid function? Looks like I will have

High Blood Glucose Levels
Folks I am now eighteen months post op (Transhiatal esophagectomy) for OC and doing really well. Regualr readers here will know that I have been left with fairly severe Hypoglycemia which is linked (by some) to late dumping. This is under control with drugs (Acarbose) and a careful very low sugar
