First day here. Just an introduction.
So, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Floyd and I have issues. I suppose I have lived with Bipolar my whole life, but treated for it only a small portion of that time. I find myself also suffering from Anxiety, according to my doctor unspecified and unstable. I also struggle with Diabetes

High Cortisol in the morning, T4 medication and Vitamins
After doing my saliva cortisol test, I have very high cortisol level especially in the morning and depressed DHEA, probably that is why I have low testosterone level, low vitamin D, low folate, somehow low B12, I might have low stomach acid and bad absorption of vitamins and minerals . Main Symptoms

Is finger prick blood testing accurate?
It's not me dissing finger prick testing here as I myself have used Blue Horizon and Medichecks over the last year for thyroid testing and my gp happily accepts them but I'm not sure he realises they're a finger prick result. Anyway a friend of mine messaged me today saying she wouldn't trust them as

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Fruit & Vegetables
This Post was prompted by the Ginger thread that WSOPeddie began & to which Neal posted: "... it's the combination of the compounds in a diet including plenty of fruits & veggies that has the greatest, most synergistic effects." There are two issues. Can fruit &/or vetables lower the risk of PCa occurrence

Friend's Mum recently diagnosed, so much confusion and not much support
A dear friend of mine mum recently diagnosed and I am concerned as she is that there has been so support for her mum or her with regards to the shocking news of cancer of her right lung, a spot on her liver and her lymph. I find this shocking. The consultants just want to take biopsies and do PET scans

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Mediterranean diet & the French Paradox
I don't intend to do a series on diets, so why this post on the Mediterranean diet? I had started on a "fats" post & realized that I needed to deal with the common preconception that fats are inherently bad for health. In my post on sugar, I suggested that one cannot have control over glucose, insulin

Reducing steroids
I am currently reducing my steroids from 40mg to 10mg over two months as recommended by my consultant. I was told to go down by 5mg every fortnight but I have been having very uncomfortable side effects, including aches and pains, fatigue and brain fog. I do not really know how long it takes the body

INSULIN RESISTANCE - What does it mean?
It is cited as the cause of diabetics in general. The treatment methods we are going through leaves me confused very much. The medication we are following at present is to change the structure of the insulin secreted by the system or to be supportive for the cells so as to enable them to make use

? Correlation between cirrhosis and hypoglycaemia.
Hello everyone. I am wondering if anyone with widespread cirrhosis such as I have, experiences symptoms of hypoglycaemia? I was diagnosed at 38 with PBC ( liver biopsy revealed stage 1-2) and am now 51. Liver biopsy plus bloods and other imaging confirmed progression to cirrhosis 4 years ago. I am busy

Someone asked for a post on sugar. If it doesn't cover what you had in mind, let me know. -Patrick Sugar & Cancer. A. Overview. A1.The Sugar Myth. One of the enduring myths about cancer, is that sugar causes and/or feeds cancer. Countless internet sites advise the unwary to give up sugar. Going

Kraft's Test for Insulin Resistance
Having a normal fasting blood glucose DOES NOT mean non-diabetic! In fact majority of diabetics have normal fasting glucose!! This was discovered by Dr Joseph Kraft in the 1970s. He designed a test called the Kraft's Test which measures how insulin-resistant one is. Insulin resistance develops slowly
