Addicted to Sinemet?
Hi all - I think I mentioned in a previous post that my dad was "abusing" his Sinemet, to the point of being dangerously overmedicated. Is it possible to be "addicted" to Sinemet and if so, can you wean off of it and get back to "normal"? My dad had DBS last Friday, and although his program director

DBS from Boston Scientific
DBS from Boston Scientific Hi all, I'm about to get DBS Vercise as treatment for my tremor dominant PD. This is the result of having had the Medtronic DBS, in for three months with little benefit. I gather that there is little on the internet about this new form of DBS because it is not yet approved

Hashi's and Gluten Free
I'm just wondering - if you have Hashi's but are negative coeliac, is a gluten free diet still likely to be beneficial? Thanks. Clemmie

Intolerances
Hi everyone, I found out I was coeliac last year and have been following a gluten free diet ever since. I also found out last year that I had an intolerance to cows milk, which I stopped having straight away. I went on holiday recently and had ice cream. To my surprise I was fine afterwards. So does

I was diagnosed last year with gluten intolerance (Mmm...) although 4 other close members of my family are Coeliacs. My question is this : Although I have followed a strict gluten free diet for nearly 2 years , I have started to develop stomach cramps again every morning just after I get to work around

Am I over-medicated?
53-year-old female, diagnosed with hypothyroidism/Hashimoto in May. Started on Levothyroxine 50, which was upped to 75 in June, as was still struggling with tiredness. Asked doc for iron as well as my Ferritin level was very low. She prescribed me Ferrous Fumarate and upped my Levothyroxine to 100.

Help I have bad knees. Rice, rice baby. Supports, tape and rock n roll. Dodgy knees and beyond.
First of all none of this is to replace proper medical advice. If you have injured your knees/ankles go see your doctor. If you have an old injury and considering taking up running check with your doctor or physio first to make sure it's all good to go. Ok right so you've done that and you have been

Advice please: Adrenal Fatigue - I am getting nowhere! Please what are the treatment options as followed by other fellow contributors.
I am currently being treated for adrenal fatigue and have been following a course of treatment for over a month and I feel I am only getting worse by the day. I am very confused and very low about the total lack of progress I am making. I am an ex-patient of Dr. Skinner and am now under a new doctor

My husband has ringing in the ears. Has had DBS for over a year now. It seems to get worse when Dr. changes settings. Anyone else?
His E.N.T. also said it is due to DBS. His neurologist said no and then changed his answer to yes it could be. Still can't figure out what to do to help my husband get rid of ringing. Any helpful advice?

Has anyone with PMR any experience of using topical (rub on the skin) pain relief, such as Ibuleve or Deep Heat?
I have seen a post here on the forum that ibuprofen is contra-indicated for use with prednisolone but this does not appear on the data sheet information of either drug.

Hello, since I was 13, I had a nodule left side of my neck. It has not increase in size, and now I am 20. I went to my GP to check it out, and I had UV scan, which came normal, but the nodule was solid, since it reflected on UV, and also I done a blood test for T3 T4 Tpo . The results were normal but

AITD and gluten free diet
How does going gluten free help with auto immune thyroid disease? I have been diagnosed with Graves and am -ve for transglutaminase ABs. I am looking for some rationale based on evidence to support going gluten free (which I am most of the time) to reduce my TRAB antibodies ( which were 2.2 (>1.8 = positive
