The Champix experience
Hello all. I hope everyone's efforts are paying off in the best ways possible - I can't imagine a better Christmas gift to ourselves and our loved ones than to have us quit smoking. :-) Now, a few hours ago I replied to a member about Champix and how there seems to be different EU/US ways of taking

Hi everyone, I've been coming to the forum for a few weeks now. I first stumbled upon this forum while researching about Champix. This wonderful community helped me to finally make up my mind, call my doctor and ask for a prescription of Champix. I'm on week 4 now and it's a challenge, but I do feel

Hello everybody, thank you for letting me join your lovely group. I have smoked 30 cigarettes a day for over 40 years. I've always really enjoyed it but I think the time is right for me to give up. The lift at work wasn't working so I had to climb 2 flights of stairs ... seriously thought I was going

Naltrexone
Hello All. Does anyone know if Naltrexone is freely available on prescription in the UK? I have asked my doctor about it and he stated that the surgery does not issue prescriptions for this drug due to funding issues. He also seemed reluctant to provide me more information regarding it's availability

Every waking thought is about smoking
Hi all, first post here but would appreciate any comments. I want to stop smoking, pretty much all day every day is spent thinking that I don't want to smoke anymore. I have been on and off patches, inhalators, ecigs etc for years yet I still smoke. Stopped for 3 months on Champix a few years back but

I joined this site about 4 years ago and occassionally would look at the posts and think- that will never be me! Just not motivated enought to go through all that. 45 years ( pretty much) a smoker . Always bought packets of 10s as was always going to give up tomorrow. Only ever smoked less than 10

Smoking is not a Habit
Smoking is an addiction and too many people say and write that it is the hardest addiction to beat. This is not true. There are no physical withdrawal aches or pains. We are easily distracted from thinking about lighting up. The hardest part of quitting is a sense of emptiness. Surely we can endure

Sometimes It feels so isolating
Hi everyone I'm new here but have been reading different forum posts on Fibro for a while now. I'm 29/F/Uk and was diagnosed with FM after months of being convinced I had MS :O Of course I was relieved when I was told I had a condition that wasn't terminal or degenerative but almost two years post diagnoses
