I've been coming to the forum for a few weeks now. I first stumbled upon this forum while researching about Champix. This wonderful community helped me to finally make up my mind, call my doctor and ask for a prescription of Champix. I'm on week 4 now and it's a challenge, but I do feel I'm winning battles everyday. For the first time, I feel this is doable. And this forum and its generous community definitely have something to do with my resolve, so... thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi Atlantida, its lovely to meet you and a big warm welcome to our lovely quit support community
I have also used champix and its excellent my advice is, please try to eat something when you have a tablet, even if its a digestive biccie it helps gal
Now then, you are 4 weeks in have you felt any difference yet have you actually quit yet
Atlanta, the champix is there to help you BUT, when it kicks in, you also have to help it, by saying NO
Atlanta, like Briarwood and Will_c has said, please keep in touch with us and we will help you all the way
Hi Pete! I need to practice more frequency in here - I'm taking too long to come in and chat and reply to your wonderful and encouraging comments and posts. Sorry for that, I'll try and do better because you're all great and I have no doubt that coming around more often will do me a great deal of good.
I'm struggling, it's a struggle, no doubt about it, but so far I think I'm doing good. I can't actually say I've quit already, because there are still some days when I light up just to put it out after 3 puffs and then I run to wash my hands because I can't stand to smell like that anymore!
Yes, I have learned the hard way that I can't take the tablet on an empty stomach. Even now, there are days when nausea hits me hard. Not today, though!

Hi Atlantida you come on here when you want to gal and its all freeeee you know
Your doing ever so well Atlanta I now know that the champix is working as in, you dont like the smell anymore soooo, I expect its the habit side of smoking thats causing you to light up
If you havnt already, please write a list of the WHY's you want to quit smoking and stick them around your house where you think you will feel like lighting up then before you do, just you read your list
Atlanta, what I would like you to do is, sit yourself down and have a good think
What time of day do you want to light up ?
Are the times about the same ?
What are you doing ?
Have you just had a meal ?
Where are you at these times ?
Is it at stressful times ?
Try to work out a pattern to the times you want to light up Think of how you could perhaps alter your routine a bit If you have a look to the right of your post, you will see the Pinned Posts, have a look through there cos it may help you plus there are some great Breathing exercises too
You are very very nearly their gal soooo come on, best foot forwards and tell yourself - NOPE, Not One Puff Ever You CAN do this and you know you can
Well if nothing else this will keep you out of mischief for a while eh Please keep us posted on how you get on and dont leave it toooo long see
