Quit Day
Hiya Katherina and a big warm welcome to quit support😊
Well done for making the decision to quit. First of all it's important to finish the course of Champix. It's very good and has helped a lot of our members. Keep busy and drink lots of water to flush out the toxins. Have a good look around the site as there's lots of hints and tips here. There's always someone around to help so stay close to this site and remember our motto, NOPE not one puff ever, good luck😊x
Keep busy, and change your routines.
Best words of advice I can think of, don't think of quiting as a loss... Think of it as a gain. A gain of freedom from many things. Gain of senses. Gain of time to do many other things. And a gain of health! You will do great I can already tell! Your here and this group is so fantastic. They are supportive and encouraging and I feel really welcomed every time I come on here! Can't wait to see your journey continue
Hi Katherina and a big warm welcome to quit support
Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking, this truly is the best thing you can do for your health
Be positive about you quit, as coolmama said - don't see it as being deprived of something. Read up on what to expect as part of your body recovering from all the nicotine and chemicals associated with cigarettes.
As you experience the symptoms - see these as temporary (none last too long) as positives changes to your body.
Keep this site nice and close, we all know how tough it can be, so if you need to rant rave, chat or just a distraction. we are all here to support you along your journey
Hi Katherina.. welcome and all the best as you start your quit!
THROW AWAY YOUR SMOKES. If and when you have a craving you will have to make an effort to get some -- and will hopefully change your mind. IT's worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hang in there one day at time.
I quit on Champix -- actually Chantix, the US version. I had tried previously over the years using various methods (NRT & CT) and can say that quitting with Chantix was the easiest --NOT EASY -- but the easiest. I smoked 40+ years. I have not smoked or used ANY nicotine at all for about 2 1/2 months, so far. .
You're not alone.

Welcome Katherina💐 When I quit the first day I wrote down the reasons smoking is deadly for me and kept it with me for 3 weeks. I'll tell you some of my reasons for not lighting up: 1. Women in my family who smoke have multiple strokes ( do not want to be disabled by a stroke or 2 or 3)
2. My grandmother had her leg amputated due to circulatory problems from smoking. ( not going to happen!!!!! Scares the hell out of me).
3. Don't want to give the tobacco industry the satisfaction of killing me slowly
Everyone of us has their own health and/or personal reasons for quitting.
I wish you the best of health🌷 Oh ya....... The people on this site are awesome❤️Keep the site close and communicate with people when you feel a craving coming on. There's always someone on line to help
Thank you for all the wonderful support. Woke up this morning read all the messages and not having my first cigarette didn't seem so bad 16 hrs done. Lol. Long way to go
😊👌
Welcome Katherina. I've used Champix too and have just finished week 7 of my quit. Keep busy, change your routine and I agree with the others...think of all that you gain rather than giving up something. Find a mantra...NOPE or something relevant to you. I used to smoke a lot on my own since most people I know don't smoke so "cigarettes are not my friend" works for me (along with NOPE). So proud of you for making the choice to stop smoking. This site is brilliant for support and inspiration.
