18th day no nicotine at all
HI there, after using NRT in the passed unsuccessfully. i have also tried champix that had horrible side effects for me, I tried "the easyway to stop smoking" by Dr Allen Carr. It's a very good book that actually encourages you to smoke whilst reading the book, unless you have aiready stopped smoking

My final stop
After many many many many tries at stopping smoking I am finally on the track of a final stop. On the 1 October 2014 I joined the non-smoking crew and I haven't had one ciggarette from that date, before everyone bombards me with congratulatory compliments on this massive achievement, I can not take

First time quitter - not smoked since beginning of July!
After 33 years smoking, I have finally quit! I am using Champix and I am absolutely stunned that it actually works. Every time previously I have thought about packing in, I have not managed an hour. So this time, I thought I would try Champix. I was told I had to fix a quit date but in view of the

Spirometry result
I had my spirometry test on Tuesday and it has come back as normal, I think it's FEV 77 and FVC 79 from what I can see. My lung age is 64, I'm 51, so that's not too good. So apparently I don't yet have COPD, but at high risk of developing it, so def need to stop smoking. The nurse gave me some champix

Has anyone else found that they don't dream (when lucky enough to sleep) on meds such as pregabalin & nortriptyline?
I used to have frequent and extremely vivid dreams but realised while taking Champix (common side effect: extremely vivid dreams) that I'd rarely dreamt in the three years I've been on these meds (amongst others). I realise my overall lack and poor quality of rest must reduce REM sleep but think these

E cigs
When I first thought about stopping smoking I tried an ecig. They were called Vapourlite. I then decided I wanted to get off nicotine hence going on Champix. I have got a dozen 16mg disposable ecigs each one the equivalent of 50 cigs. Wonder if they would help anyone out as they are just sitting in a

All you ever wanted to know about the e-cig
I found this today. (The link at the bottom, I never intended writing this much of an introduction to it) It will be of particular interest to anyone struggling with their e-cig, anyone who wonders why it just doesn't hit the spot like a real cig. It answers the urban myth that suggests people who

WAKE UP
Wow was it hard to wake up this morning, like dragging my head through thick cold custard, I had to force myself to move, and every muscle complained about it. Not done anything strenuous yesterday and went to bed feeling fine. Only thing different is the Champix dose went from 1 tablet to 2 tablets.
