Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter placement side effect - Can't pee!
So I posted that I had my PD Catheter placement surgery yesterday morning and I felt pretty good all day. Didn't even have to take the pain med I was given. Then last night about 5:30pm, I noticed an uncomfortable feeling and a bit of pain in my bladder area. I tried to pee and even though I felt like

My Mayo Clinic journey and dialysis
I'm going through my tests with Mayo Clinic in Arizona. I will tell you that they treat you like person. I'm impressed with size of the campus. They are very organized and were on time with my appointments. I still have some more tests to go. I should hopefully will find out, by on all days

Verzenio
Can anyone tell me about Verzenio? What side effects have you had? I’m about to start next week and from what I’ve read, severe severe diarrhea is an issue along with other stomach problems and I’m wondering what I am up against. My last medicine reacted with my cholesterol medicine and I ended up

Please have blood tests if taking medication - Pentasa.
My GP prescribed me Pentasa for my Ulcerative Colitis. I took this for approx 10 years. My GP never requested any blood tests in this time. This medication was slowly killing off my kidney function. In 2017 I was admitted to hospital with a 9% kidney function. I stopped Pentasa and my kidneys improved

Snow Queen
Tonight was the first real snow of the year. It has me thinking will this be the last first snow that I will not be on dialysis. I am trying not to think that way. It's just hard. But you know I'm going to put a bright spin on it. It's okay if this is the last first snow, I truly enjoyed watch every

Hi, I'm new to this forum. My best friend has MSA-P. head drop syndrome and nocturnal stridor, Maggie just turned 70. She was diagnosed Aug 22 but we think had symptoms for 5 years. First diagnosed with Parkinson's then A-Typical Parkinism. At the moment she's in constant pain with her neck and head

Hello everybody! I have really been learning a lot and appreciating s the warm, generous, and kind people and sharing of information, experiences, tips, suggestions, etc. from this community. Thank you very much. I am fairly new and I have been pretty quickly switched from 3 to 2 times per week. However

This Queen is thankful like Sunday morning
Here is the link a Sunday morning song. Easy= https://youtu.be/7XcTyEKSnYg I hope everyone is doing well today. It's a gray one where I am but the fall leaves will pop. This song is one my dad introduced me to. I'm doing well. I don't get to write on here as much as I'd like. Work and school are capturing

I am on In center HD for about 6 weeks and I hate it. They say that HD removed toxins from the blood. Can someone tell what toxins it removes from the blood? I know it removes potassium and phosphorus and sugar. What other ingredients? I will highly appreciate the info. Thanks

ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY due to BK VIRUS
Anyone here suffered from AKI after transplant that has to undergo dialysis for the kidney to recover? Transplanted kidney is not severely damaged on biopsy but creatinine is high due to active BK VIRUS.

A Queen's Respect
Of course I have to give respect to the true Queen. So sad to see her go. I was going to say she was like the grandmother I never saw or got a call from but she was always there dressed to the 9s and had a waving hello for everyone. Aside from that I've been tired as a pot hound after a morning bunny

I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure at the age of 16 and had undergone dialysis continuously for 7 to 8 months. Fortunately My Father was my kidney donor and got my transplant on 2012, 10 yrs ago. I was at the age of 16 during that time. The pain that I endured during those 7 to 8 months

well….I guess this is it
im going to die soon….but im ok with it I had ten yrs to think about it so Im fine with leaving this world behind….it’s obviously a rational and well thought through choice (I absolutely refuse any transplants or dialysis or what ever is offered) ….I think its important to be careful with opinions

So, to follow up on my last post: https://healthunlocked.com/nkf-dialysis/posts/148305786/peritoneal-dialysis-week-two-after-surgery Today was my second visit to the dialysis clinic for a dressing change which basically followed the exact procedure listed above with just a few additional tweaks, and

Side Effects of Rivaroxaban?
In my early 40's I was prescribed Warfarin after DVT thrombosis in leg and two PE's circa 2004. Had what I would call accepted side effects, feeling cold, easily bruised had to change my diet slightly as grapefruit juice, cranberries, leafy greens were apparently not good whilst taking Warfarin. Around
