Today I wanted to post in one of the biggest CKD Facebook groups about The Kidney Project. I pointed out that the project is barely advancing due to the lack of sufficient funding and support. So, the government should be persuaded to fund the project. Even 1 percent of annual dialysis expenditure from federal budget would make a big difference. And I suggested that CKD patients community should support and encourage the project team. They should be protected especially against the dialysis industry sharks!
And guess what happend? My post wasnt permitted and I was kicked out of the FB group!
PS : Sorry for my broken English. I don’t feel myself motivated to create a better text. I am disappointed. Every CKD patient has a common fear, ending up in dialysis. But this is not our fate. Unfortunately some people want to make wealth on sufferings and pains of humans

Your English and writing are perfectly fine and understandable. It's interesting to hear that that happened on FB. Perhaps that group is financed by the dialysis industry? Either way, the dialysis lobby in Washington is way too powerful to let the government tackle the problem. It would eat into their shareholder profits. This is the sad state of affairs in the United States. Thanks for trying.
I don't understand it either....Dialysis is the most expensive disease that Medicare pays for...I have read that the estimate for the Implantable Artificial Kidney is around $30,000 to $60,000...which is the cost of less than one year of Dialysis ...less than a Transplant and less than the anti-rejection medications....
Government and Politicians will never seek to help end Kidney Disease or ant new alternatives...Big Pharma donates to their Campaigns.....
We need a Billionaire Investor to bring this Project into Reality
Really sad state of affairs. If I recall correctly to plan for the human trials they need around 10 million dollars. That’s not a lot of money for the potential that this “pacemaker” for the kidneys that requires no anti rejection drugs and that can open doors even for those who do not qualify for the traditional transplant. It’s a no brainer
I try to support this by following on the LinkedIn and FB page of the project among others
Recently the FB group IGA N too shared this link Posted on the kidney project FB and LinkedIn page:
Here is a link to the article where The Kidney Project’s Technical Director, Dr. Shuvo Roy, is featured in “The Innovators” section of the Silicon Valley Magazine's December/January issue. In it, Dr. Roy discusses his goals to dramatically disrupt the $35 billion kidney treatment industry through his work on the implantable bioartificial kidney. bit.ly/3VTXWtD
The project truly requires urgent attention and support of all stakeholders - the philanthropic community, the venture fund folks, the pharma industry and the health policy makers. It has an enormous potential to alleviate the suffering of millions of people afflicted by kidney diseases and to vastly improve the quality of their lives through this innovation, while reducing significantly the costs to the health care system.
That's not right - not right at all - that your post was banned. Some FB pages don't allow links to other sites. Perhaps that may have happened to your post if you included links to other sites. Like you, I see the Kidney Project as an exceptionally important research effort. Breakthroughs are happening in other areas, the world is long overdue for a breakthrough in dialysis - something that can be used by all people with kidney failure everywhere. I greatly appreciate your efforts to bring this up with others. Please keep it up, don't be discouraged! By the way, your English is wonderful!
I so wish the kidney project can see the support it has in the community. They have posted a link to a live Q&A with dr Shuvo Roy etc on Monday on FB/ LinkedIn. You may want to join this to learn more:
