2 years again

I have been on dialysis for the second time . I lost both kidneys when I was 32 due to a virial infection . Spent 2 years on hemo dialysis in 1994-1996 then a perfect match from a wonderful doner . This transplant lasted 27 years from 1996 to 2020 I am again on hemo dialysis every other day and hoping and praying to get on another transplant list in 2023 , I am trying my best to have a good out look but it is a very difficult issue . Can someone share a transplant story with me about waiting time and the waiting issues they endured ? Thank you so very much and wish you the best.

I'm sorry to hear you had to go back on dialysis. I started dialysis in May and it does take a lot out if you mentally. I am currently waiting to hear, when I can go live on the transplant list. I completed on the tests and now just waiting to hear from my consultant. I am based in Scotland, so things might not be the same where you live. I am in a room with 3 other patients. Most of them have been on dialysis for 2-3 years. However last week two of them got the call and are now doing well after their transplants. I was then told another two people, who attend the morning sessions also got a new kidney. So in the past week that has been four. I hope everything works out for you. It always seems like one step forward and two back. You have done great having your first transplant last so long. Keep going my friend. Wishing you a lovely and a happy and healthy New year

Thank you for your sweet letter. Yes it is very hard to be on dialysis again but I really hope we both get good news soon. I have a dialysis machine in my home is that something you can do in Scotland or do you have to be in center ? I had to go to a hospital for about a year in 2021 and I just hated it so bad it is better at home but lets get real dialysis is not any fun but a neccesary for life to go on. I wish you the best of luck and lets keep fighting this disease until we get a fuctioning kidney, oh well I can't spell either. Sending prayer your way.👍👍👍👍
