Has anyone had shaving of bowel endometriosis?
He hopes that this will be how it will be removed but has pre warned me about the chances of complications and perhaps the chance of a short term
colostomy
bag. How have you managed to cope with this kind of surgery? Thank you ❤️

How to support my partner after colostomy surgery?
Hi, I would like some advice. My partner is having surgery after Christmas to remove his large bowel and will have a stoma after the surgery. I know it is a big adjustment mentally and physically. I would like to know how best to support him after the surgery. Thank you for any advice you can give :)

Many thanks and Merry Christmas! Op on 28th and I'm getting nervous eek!
As they have to tell you all possible outcomes, I was told I could wake up with
colostomy
, drains, no prolapse repair etc etc etc. They didn't say what they are hoping to actually achieve in the best case as there are so many variables despite having had a lap and MRI pre op.

Hello
The course of his disease progressed fairly slowly for a couple of years until he required surgery for a
colostomy
. He came out of surgery crying, seeing and talking to many of his deceased realatives, and extremely confused.

Need advice from one of you lovely ladies
I was also told there was a possibility I may need to have a
colostomy
bag fitted. Possibly temporary. Could someone please tell me why this might be the case and if anyone else has had one. How it felt etc. I thought I was coping very well until I heard this news and then I went to pieces.

Surgeon recommending hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries and Fallopian tubes; uterus adhered to bowel
The Dr. said there was a small risk of bowel complications, which could require a
colostomy
bag for 3-4 months. While this is a small risk, he threw it out there like it was not very significant. I will see the bowel surgeon next week and hopefully learn more about how much risk this is.

Prednisone alternative?
Her surgeon (who performed a
colostomy
) believes the prednisone was the cause of it. It seems her only alternative is methotrexate. She hates the idea of going on it as it seems poison to her.
