My ICU story and after.....
My medical condition of Perforated Bowel I could find no support groups for at all, although the
Colostomy
Association was very helpful.

Biopsy Results not the best.
Wasn't surprised at the bowel as I had half expected a
colostomy
but shocked at the rectum being removed. Tumours on diaphragm and bowel. I have my last chemo on Oct 12th and CT scan arranged for middle of November so hopefully things will be a bit clearer then.

Diagnoised with endometriosis 2 months ago, already had an operation and awaiting my second. .... advice welcome please :0)
If this is the case I will wake up after my op with a temporary
colostomy
bag and catheter for 6 weeks.....this terrifies the hell out of me!!! This has all come as a massive blow to me, as I have been having no pain except heavy periods which I thought was normal.

Anyone out there ever experienced BRIGHT YELLOW stool with PBC? ( I know a lil gross)
I've had bright yellow stool for almost two months now. Its constant, at least 5 times a day. ( I had a subtotal colectomy so I have alot of movements). I was just curious if anyone else with PBC experienced light color stools, such as yellow? From what I've read its because of the lack of bile salt

MRI scan booked for 10th July as my uterus is stuck to my bowel!
He said the worse case scenario is possibly a
colostomy
which hopefully will be reversed. I'm due to go back to my consultant on the 7th August for the results of the MRI scan and then I will be booked in for my op. I will be having a total hysterectomy.

After seeing my consultant it looks like a hysterectomy is my only option. I have to have a MRI scan now as my uterus is stuck to my bowel.
Having said that he explained to me that I may end up with a
colostomy
bag as my uterus is stuck to my bowel. That is very rare and they have a good team which will be there when I have the operation.

Hi I recently had a CA125 test and a transvag which showed up a mass
The consultant has also said I have so many adhesions that unless it was cancer they wouldn't do anymore ops because it could result in me having a
colostomy
etc... has anyone had similar probs and what is the best advice?

Is there any way of obtaining Psychosexual Therapy & relationship councelling on the NHS after an APER that has left you impotent.?
An APER is the excission of rectum leaving you with a
colostomy
due lower rectal cancer.

My Story
back together. they can't do that straight off, they need to let the intestine rest, recuperate, reconstruct some for a while. i was told it could only be a
colostomy
bag for two months, which would be 22 april.

New tumour, another op? Very scared!
I am so nervous as there is a real risk of bowel damage and a
colostomy
. Bang goes my aquarobics, the one form of exercise I can still do.

Has anyone had a Colostomy bag after tumor resection?
It is interfering with bowel function so it is likely my colon will be damaged during the surgery leaving me at least temporarly with a
colostomy
bag and then a subsequent surgery to restore rectal function.

How long til a stoma settles into a pattern?
I had my
colostomy
, descending almost end of colon, on December 4th. It does not seem to have settled into a regular pattern of working.

Next Op to remove tumour - colostomy here I come!
Can't say I am looking forward to a
colostomy
but I hear of loads of people who have got used to it very quickly and it should not rule out the aquarobics! he real bad news this morning was the collision with another car as we entered the hospital grounds.
