Should I get hysterectomy/ part of bowel removed? Is it worth it??
The likelihood is that this will involve a temporary
colostomy
bag. I was put on the waiting list for the wrong operation (!) but am finally due to get it in the August/September. I had an appt with the
colostomy
nurse last week and am having major doubts.

The life after chemo isn't what I thought it would be.
Got upcoming surgery in ten days to remove my
colostomy
bag. Very scared about it too. But this state of depression is not what I was expecting.Everone seems to think my battle is over. And the few friends that I still have...well they are not the same or maybe it's me.

ileostomy and knee pain-no dmards
I had an ileostomy in February with a temporary
colostomy
bag. I am off all RA meds because they suppress the immune system and I am healing. Problem is I am cleared to go back to work in retail but now my knees are acting up.

Another challenge...
Then she will have surgery and a
colostomy
. My Dad and I will be sharing the practical business of daily commutes to the hospital. My main worry is for my parents, of course. If anyone has any tips for helping them through this process, I'd be grateful.

How long is recovery?
Due to surgical complications he has had two further emergency operations and now has a
colostomy
. In that time he has spent several weeks in ICU on a ventilator and also had a tracheotomy for a while. He is now back on the ward and can hardly move or speak and is unable to feed himself.

Post surgery experience - colostomy.
I am facing a decision about surgery to aid my pain and chances of conceiving but have been warned that I may need a temporary
colostomy
. Has anyone else been through this and could give me any advice on their experience please? I'm looking from a physical and psychological perspective.

Difficult now
I used a service that came in one or two times daily to make sure she ate, took her meds and assist with her
colostomy
. My wife was able to take care of our dog and herself with the assistance of the service.

15 days til my last treatment!
I'm a little worried about the surgeries to remove the
colostomy
bag. But the excitement of no more chemo after February 15th is taking the fear away for now.

Would just like to say Hi!
A Hartman's procedure was carried out and I was left with what is now a permanent
colostomy
. Unfortunately due to post operative complications my stoma herniated, with nothing to be done until I am 5 years cancer free.
