Agree to Surgery or Refuse??
I've been advised by gynae and colorectal surgeons that my only option is open surgery,
colostomy
bag, and analogue drugs to induce menopause. I am requesting a second opinion at the BSGE clinic nearby.

Constant Gastric problem in SLE
She has already been operated for
colostomy
in 2008 with complete rectum removed. She is currently on Omnacortil 10mg and MMF 2gm per day. Also taking pantop DSR/rantac OD for acidity control since last 8 months but that seems ineffective now.

Should I undergo another colonoscopy?
At that time, I pointed out to my gastroenterologist that because of a severe case of diverticulitis, a
colostomy
and reversal, I have severe scarring in my intestines. I also have been reading that it is more normal for people over 75 to have insufficient cleansing.

Mucus as bad as Diarrhea.
I had surgery for permanent
colostomy
/ stoma and I get lots of mucus from my butt. It comes as quickly and unannounced as diarrhea did before. I'm cancer free and because of this, I don't have the severe diarrhea of the past under radiation.

Can't get a surgeon to take the risk of treating me!!
The gynae oncologist (oncologist because they didn't know what my bleeding lump was at first) said if she would have tried to take anything away she would have caused more damage and I could end up with a permanent
colostomy
bag.

I'm so glad to be on this group. I've read all your posts and I want to tell you I'm so sorry for those of you still suffering with little help. That is me. We must not give up hope. I'm in the Atlanta area. My nightmare began 8 years ago when I began to experience severe constipation and colon pain

Bowel obstructions
And how many of you now have a
colostomy
or an ileostomy? I have recently had a short bowel ileostomy January 6th, this happened because of collapsed bowel at the Ileocecal junction due to 2nd reoccurrence, and I was half way through treatment with Carboplatin when it happened.

The beginning, continuing journey... etc etc et
Then I’m told I could wake up with a
colostomy
. My immediate response?. Well just think how much easier that will make my job driving truck... I won’t have to search for a bathroom to take a dump any more!! After stunned silence everyone is laughing hysterically. Fast forward.

The only way is to resect 10cm from the rectum with a small section from the bladder and the muscle and resect the urthere and then to make
colostomy
. In fact this what is done to me since 10 days ago. Now im in recovery , every day better.

Can acupuncture help pudendal pain?
So too a
colostomy
if the bowel did not behave - a bit confused which path to take but not surgery unless a last resort. I already have a c-scar. Sorry if this is long but a complex history.

What happens in the very end stages of Metastasized Stage 4 prostate cancer?
The cancer can grow posteriorly to close off the rectum, requiring a
colostomy
- or just causing death from peritonitis. (A
colostomy
doesn’t do anything about the constant feeling that you have a butcher knife stuck up your ass.)

From a newbie
The MS affects my bladder and bowels so now I have a suprapubic catheter and 2 years ago I chose to have a
colostomy
because I was spending half my life sitting on a soiled pad - I don't regret my decision.

My womb was adhered to my bowel so he advised against surgery at this time in case it resulted in a
colostomy
. My ovaries were pretty much tangled and adhered but the op went well. However i started having sort of periods afterwards and my fsh levels were high for someone who had no ovaries.

Why Does Chronic Prostatitis Lead to Frequent Urination?
If the bladder is partially removed due to disease or causes contracture because of long - term bladder
colostomy
, stones, bladder tuberculosis, bladder volume decreases for the compression of external bladder, so the times of urination increases. (3) Mental state and psychological factors.

Will anti depressants help?
I had a total colectomy when I was 18, 47 yrs ago. I still wake up everyday and think how friggin stupid I was to have had that operation done, but there were my parents in my room when the drs told me I was going to die. I really wish I would have had the courage to say 'send me home so I can die'
