Colostomy

I have a lot of mucus from rectum and it is making my life miserable many times a day I run to bathroom with the strong urge to poop like old days before the colostomy. No blood or color just clear watery like mucus. I have tried enemas.

As I have it on the bladder , bowl, uterus and rectum I am at risk of coming out of surgery with a life long colostomy bag. Anyone who has had the surgery, how did it go for you? Thank u 😘

ladies, So i got my final diagnosis today, it turns out I have it on the bowel rectum and bladder and it’s sticking my organs together, my doctor suggested I tried the marina coil before we take the operation route, as she said the operation will be very tricky and I could be left with a permanent colostomy

The surgeon wanted to rid my colon of any infection so that when he performed the surgery on Monday I wouldn’t have the worry of wearing a colostomy bag for 6 months.

And they just found a fistulous tract and installed a subpubic catheter, a colostomy and a stint in his kidney. There's evidence of new cancer in the bladder and that tube to his kidney.... Plus a lesion on his liver, still waiting on biopsy. Y'all... I'm scared!

Hi My mom had a very unfortunate sigmoid colon perforation leading to a colostomy and after which the biopsy showed clear cell carcinoma ovary our oncologist started chemo after 6 weeks and then her abdominal wound burst leading to burst abdomen she is being given standard chemo liposomal every week

They said removing the affected areas would result in a colostomy bag and would endanger her life as the surgey would be so radical. They removed her ovaries and Fallopian tubes but neither had any evidence of cancer.

Hi. I’m wondering if anyone has horrible heel pain. Rheumy says it’s Achilles tendinitis and no ideas. It’s been over s year now. Any ideas at all welcome. I did in 30 january 2018 a big surgery - colostomy and iliostomy - They resected a 10 cm from my rectum including the tumor Then after two months i did closure iliostomy Im fine for the moment with Some urinary infection, im under antibiotics medication.

Nine months into this horrible journey of advanced prostate cancer caused by Agent Orange, seemingly endless surgeries, complete urinary incontinence, a temporary colostomy, absolute desexualization, humiliation and embarrassment and I have finally realized there are no quick solutions, no easy answers

I was told there was possibility of open bowel surgery/ colostomy bag and a big cut. I was down for 3 hours. But they did amazing. They said my endo was worse than they thought and a lot of it was hidden so they had to move few organs.

There is a chance I may have a colostomy bag. My endo has spread to my bowel and also the not knowing of if the opp could effect me having children. Has anyone else felt like this and got through it ok? Xxx

I had very little to go on, I was scared, I just thought I could have a colostomy, a blood transfusion, amounts of numerous other issues. I then received a phone call two days later offering me the Operation in two days and I had to make the decision there and then.

I've been advised by gynae and colorectal surgeons that my only option is open surgery, colostomy bag, and analogue drugs to induce menopause. I am requesting a second opinion at the BSGE clinic nearby.

This floored me as I was told it was an end colostomy!

She has already been operated for colostomy in 2008 with complete rectum removed. She is currently on Omnacortil 10mg and MMF 2gm per day. Also taking pantop DSR/rantac OD for acidity control since last 8 months but that seems ineffective now.

At that time, I pointed out to my gastroenterologist that because of a severe case of diverticulitis, a colostomy and reversal, I have severe scarring in my intestines. I also have been reading that it is more normal for people over 75 to have insufficient cleansing.

I had surgery for permanent colostomy / stoma and I get lots of mucus from my butt. It comes as quickly and unannounced as diarrhea did before. I'm cancer free and because of this, I don't have the severe diarrhea of the past under radiation.

In all my life is OK and I look forward to another 20 years or so of golf ,fishing,gardening and some diving (for scallops) I has been a revelation to find this site and others including Colostomy UK.org which has extensive information about our problems ,but no answer to leakage .
