Feeling so excited about my last treatment. I'm a little worried about the surgeries to remove the colostomy bag. But the excitement of no more chemo after February 15th is taking the fear away for now.

15 days til my last treatment!
What a wonderful Valentines present for sure, being delivered a day later( Yours special day)... Veronica, I remember my last one in September and how elated I felt about it as well.. You enjoy your two weeks of pre-last-chemo celebration. It really is a big deal.
Also plan to celebrate afterwards too once you feel like it... and start planning what you would like to do in place of all the time you have had to use for the Chemo/lab and recovery appointments.... there can be a slight " lost feeling" afterwards about not having all of that in your routine... it caught me off guard as it does some other ladies that I have read about.
I'm really excited. But I am really scared too. I am going to miss the comfort of going to see my Dr. I know that sounds weird but it has helped me to see her often. I felt safe that she would spot any new signs of cancer. And from what I understand it's now going to be every 3 mths. after my last treatment. That alone scares me
Congrats on getting rid of the ostomy bag. For me, that bag was far worse than chemo. I'm a big bath tub soaker and have read entire books whilst relaxing in my jetted tub. With the bag, I couldn't have a leisurely read while soaking! You'll enjoy pooping and farting normally again!!
Fantastic news and you look great. Good luck with your next target and give yourself a treat when it is all over!
I had a colostomy take down in September 2016 . It went great you will get use to it . But things are a little different in a good way. So good luck . I'm Anna by the way.
well at first you you will retrain colon and the muscle. There will be loose stools at first. you might get frustrated but don't it will work itself out and stay on the diet. They will give you a list of foods. It's the best thing that could happen to me. Everyone is different. I don't know how your doctor will perform your surgery. My doctor was chief of oncology surgery at vidant medical center nc. It takes a few months to heal. but keep the faith god brought you to it and he will bring you through it.
