Blood results in CBC
Hi All, I wrote two months ago that my blood work had returned to normal after two abnormal and a tentative dx of CLL. Well, this month it is abnormal again. I am so confused. The receptionist said they never diagnose until at least six months of blood results.

Free Prescription home deliveries appear to have been stopped by Boots
Since the start of lockdown my local Boots pharmacy has been efficiently delivering my prescriptions to my front door. Latest was sent my GP to them 2 weeks ago. I rang today and was told as the Government had stopped support for the vulnerable, they has stopped free deliveries. The very nice manager

Kidney failure following liver transplant
I'm now 7 weeks post transplant and my liver is working perfectly, but at clinic this week my kidney blood tests were elevated to moderate (stage 3) kidney failure. Is this common following a transplant and is it something that will improve or continue to be a concern or get worse? P.s. I am diabetic

Thanks for all of you with your previous replies. As you know I have been diagnosed last month with SLL/CLL and now I have all my test results. I hope you can share your experience with similar results to mine and dice me with what to expect: 1) CBC all numbers are within the normal range 2) Flow

Clemastine (Tavegyl), an over-the-counter drug, found to be effective at inducing LMP and cell death
For what it may be worth, thougbt some of you might like to see this: "Lysosomes in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells have previously been identified as a promising target for therapeutic intervention in combination with targeted therapies. Recent studies have shown that antihistamines can induce

Imbruvica-related issues: Qs + comments
The following are questions and comments I'll be asking my oncologist when I see him tomorrow. I believe at least some of them might be relevant to what some among us are experiencing and research some of us are engaging in. Clearly, none of the comments here are meant to be authoritative nor intended

What did you take to hospital when you had surgery? (Laparoscopy)
So my surgery is coming up end of month. Laparoscopy and polyp removal. I’ve been told to bring slippers and a robe (dressing gown) which I have and maybe something to entertain myself. Might take my kindle and phone. Is there anything else I need. I’m only meant to be in for the day so won’t need overnight

FCR
I’ll avoid FCR at all. Dangerous and tricky. Increase the probability of AL occurrence as well as second neoplasm and Richter transformation in the long run. You have to be "fit patient” to receive FCR, IGHV mutated and without tp53 mutation or 17p deletion. Find a responsible doctor with a robust experience

Documented remission without drugs
I've just come across an article on a remarkable, well-documented, case of a younger man with CLL who, over time, achieved complete remission without drugs. Here's the link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4739749/ * I hasten to add that this is but a single case, and I'm not recommending

Would you recommend the use of sauna for someone with CKD or Kidney transplant? Any good experience?
I have been reading a lot about the benefits of infrared sauna in general about health(cardiovascular, inflammation, cognitive, hormonal). Some studies mention benefits to the kidney function (http://europepmc.org/article/MED/17267744). Before buying one I would like to know if anyone had positive results

Resistance-Associated Mutations in CLL Patients Treated With Novel Agents
This is slightly complex but good overview of the acquired resistance mechanisms to novel agents. In 80% of patients with ibrutinib failure, acquired mutations in BTK and PLCG2 genes were detected. No common resistance-associated mutations or deregulated signaling pathways have been reported in idelalisib

Richter transformation after quitting ibrutinib: a diagnostic error
Hi all. The topic of the connection between Ibrutinib and the Richter transformation is getting very interesting. In the group that I have on Facebook every day people are entering that once Ibrutinib left a few days for an operation or biopsy for another movement, Richter was diagnosed. Then the Pet

confused over GFR readings
Roughly a year ago a blood test revealed my gfr as 82 with the comment stage 2 chronic kidney disease. This initially alarmed me so I googled it and was reassured that this is normal for my age (72). It also implied that it wouldn't ever get back to a higher level. A couple of weeks ago I had a routine

Remove polyp before IUI?
Hi All, I’m very new to all this, so any help would be appreciated! I had the HyCoSy test yesterday at my private clinic, and while my tubes are fine - they found a polyp on the lip of my cervix. The doctor said they could still go ahead with IUI, but it’s probably best to have this removed before
