Free Prescription home deliveries appear to have been stopped by Boots

Since the start of lockdown my local Boots pharmacy has been efficiently delivering my prescriptions to my front door.

Latest was sent my GP to them 2 weeks ago. I rang today and was told as the Government had stopped support for the vulnerable, they has stopped free deliveries. The very nice manager after a brief discussion agreed to deliver mine but wasn't sure if this could continue as the Company followed "government advice and guidelines."

The government admits things are getting worse nationally and in many localities are become a crisis but #vulnerablegroupies are losing national support.

Our Boots had to stop deliveries at the start of lockdown as they’d been inundated by requests. My husband had to use nhs volunteers.

I changed my chosen chemist from my local Boots to online with delivery by Royal Mail ! That turned into a nightmare and they ignored emails and the one phone number I had was never answered. In frustration I reverted to local Boots and asked my neighbour to collect for me.

You should be able to speak to someone in your local council.

If a neighbour collects for you they need your date of birth and address.

I had a prescription delivered by Boots yesterday. I think you will find if you order them on Boots online prescriptions, it is processed centrally and the free service will continue.
