Remove polyp before IUI?

Hi All,

I’m very new to all this, so any help would be appreciated!

I had the HyCoSy test yesterday at my private clinic, and while my tubes are fine - they found a polyp on the lip of my cervix.

The doctor said they could still go ahead with IUI, but it’s probably best to have this removed before starting treatment.

Obviously the polyp removal will be on the NHS, which will delay everything waiting on the appointment for that.

Should I just go ahead and start the IUI? Or should I have the polyp removed before starting treatment?

Thank you so much for any help that you can give!

xx

I had the same situation and went forward with the IUI. It failed. I felt like I wasted my time and $1,500 for the IUI. I would recommend to remove the polyp, just to give your IUI more chance.

I am having a polyp removed before my next ivf round as our first FET failed and they think it’s possibly because they didn’t remove it first... we’ll never know if that is exactly why but I wouldn’t risk it 2nd time. Xx

Hi, I will advise you get it removed. My doctor said they will check my lining after my period as my lining were too thick when I was on CD 11. So they were suspecting I might have it. And if I do they need to remove it before any embryo transfer. Good luck..

I got mine removed on NHS if you do it on the IVF path they will fast track you

Goodluck operation is super easy and I’m pretty sure it needs removal first

Thanks x
