I have a 16 y.o. daughter with severe Ulcerative
Colitis
. She has had many medication fails. She is a primary non-responder to Remicade. We have been in the hospital for 18 days today and she has had 2 (Entyvio) vedolimumab infusions, last one was 3 days ago.

Ulcerative Colitis therapy a Can of Worms!
I don't think it would help with thyroid issues but couldn't resist. HEALTH WARNING: This post is not for the over-sensitive soul. It sounds just as yuck as maggot therapy or faecal transplants ;-) https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/helminthic-therapy-mucus/ https://www.celiac.com/articles.html

The ultimate irony: a physician who cannot figure out what is wrong with themselves. (PLEASE HELP)
In case it is relevant, my family history is significant for: Parkinson's (paternal grandfather) Temporal Arteritis (maternal grandmother) Ulcerative
Colitis
(father) Crohn's Disease (mother) I feel a little bit crazy because the conglomeration of symptoms I am experiencing is so bizarre

Hi everyone, last April I was diagnosed with Microscopic
colitis
. After a course of Budesonide, I have thankfully felt very well. Trouble is a couple of days ago I started to suffer from Sciatica...and it's agony. I tried Paracetamol, but it didn't touch the pain.

Any advice
Along with
colitis
I also have arthritis. I often find my roster difficult to deal with and on my days off I am unable to enjoy time with my husband and child as I’m in pain, fatigued or both.

Surgery with an auto immune disorder
It seems to me that the worst possible outcome would be to agree to the test, be tested positive but then for reasons of pre existing health conditions- in my case ulcerative
colitis
, inflammatory arthritis and hearing loss - be told that surgery was too risky.

All tests are neg yet still have symptoms, could it be IBS?
Even tho my bowel specialist had seen it and he actually thought it was
colitis
, he was flummoxed and still is. More tests followed, ct, mri, then a sigmoidoscopy which showed small white, grain like things attached where the inflammation was in my rectum!

Have all the symptoms of IBS but is it something else?
I have had what I would call a successful ileostomy since 1968 which cured 4 years of misery with ulcerative
colitis
. I could eat everything, just not ridiculous amounts of hard to-digest-fruits and veggies which have cause several painful blockages over the years (scar tissue or gluttony?)

Anyone with Crohn's know of the connection between this disease and Ashkenazi Jews?
His daughter and myself only have
colitis
; I count that as good luck.
