Any advice

Hi all,

I’m currently having a difficult time with my work. I asked in March 2019 for to amend my hours (either drop hours or amend full time hours) and have been pushed from pillar to post since then. Along with arthritis I also have colitis. I often find my roster difficult to deal with and on my days off I am unable to enjoy time with my husband and child as I’m in pain, fatigued or both.

I’m looking for some ideas from others who work full time with one or both of these issues about how they cope with shift work & maintaining a family life.

Thanks in advance

I was honest with work and said I need 6hr days and 4 day week for a trial period to see if it works based on nurse telling me something had to give. Work been good and backed up with a letter by me being honest on how I was feeling but also worried about my role and work. It is hard but just taken call from my boss as I am struggling with MTX nausea and going in Monday for a handover but he has Rota me out for rest of week so I can have time to recover. I hate the fact I cannot work to my hours but something has to give.

Many a tear shed today as feel as if I am failing as the money provider but then got a head hunt call......mad day x

Have you looked at the publications on the NRAS website? There are two related to employment.
