I’m currently having a difficult time with my work. I asked in March 2019 for to amend my hours (either drop hours or amend full time hours) and have been pushed from pillar to post since then. Along with colitis I also have arthritis. I often find my roster difficult to deal with and on my days off I am unable to enjoy time with my husband and child as I’m in pain, fatigued or both.
I’m looking for some ideas from others who work full time with one or both of these issues about how they cope with shift work & maintaining a family life.
Thanks in advance

Do you work for the nhs by any chance, I do and it sounds so familiar. Under the disability act your employer needs to make readonable adjustments if you have an occupational health department they can support you. I do 30 hours a week over 3 days or nights but am suppose to have at least 3 days off in a row when I do nights. It does not always happen but thanks to occy health it is a recommendation to improve work/life balance.
I can totally understand where your coming from. I have just been told by consultant that i have fistulating small bowel crohns as well as total large bowel crohns (diagnosed with crohns colitis to start 27yrs ago) i also have enteropathic arthritis, which at times can make mobility difficult n painful x
