Ulcerative Colitis therapy a Can of Worms!

I don't think it would help with thyroid issues but couldn't resist.

HEALTH WARNING: This post is not for the over-sensitive soul. It sounds just as yuck as maggot therapy or faecal transplants ;-)

As I was just diagnosed with microscopic colitis, I find this very interesting!

It's apparently still in the testing stage, or was when the articles were written, but may be worth investigating.

Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease are both regarded as Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD).

The bad news for sufferers is that a company called Mahana Therapeutics has created or licensed an online CBT product for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) that they want to promote in conjunction with the NHS. And now they want to extend its use to IBD. Let's just hope the worms work well, because if the NHS are going to save money by using CBT to treat IBD rather than more practical treatments they are going to kill people.

Read the article I got this from here - see the last paragraph for the reference to IBD:

That is really interesting - and really maddening. My recently diagnosed microscopic colitis is a less serious form of IBD. I am currently on heavy duty bismuth tablet treatment.
