Israeli scientists developing ‘precision’ viruses that kill bowel-harming bacteria
The Weizmann researchers hope to develop them into drugs that either treat Crohn’s and ulcerative
colitis
or possibly avert the diseases among people who are assessed to have high levels of Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Ureterolysis
Hi there, I had my first operative laparoscopy recently and have obtained a copy of my surgical notes. As well as adhesiolysis and excision of endometriosis (in various forms, e.g., helium plasma coagulation and left sidewall resection), I saw this: [i]Ureterolysis with freeing of ureter for retroperitoneal

When to class a UC Flare-up as over?
I do want to learn a bit more and try to start some nice meals that are
colitis
friendly but would also like to have something to look forward to. Just wondering how much longer after their symptoms clear that they start introducing things back?

On going investigation.
Earlier this year I became very ill and a CT scan showed Terminal ileitis/
Colitis
. I was very lucky that I managed to get an appointment from Gastroenterology. My consultant put me forward for two tests, another colonoscopy and a capsule endoscopy.

She takes anti organ rejecting drugs for her ulcerative
colitis
so was floored to find out she had blood cancer tho she said it was the best kind to have if you have cancer. They have 5 year old twin girls. Anyway, so sorry for the long write up.

Curcumin Update 2023/03/06
Collectively, these findings suggest that the combined treatment of curcumin and essential turmeric oils provides superior protection from DSS-induced
colitis
than curcumin alone, highlighting the anti-inflammatory potential of turmeric.

calprotectin levels of over 2000 and positive FIT test!
My Grandfather had quite bad ulcerative
colitis
. I’ve been referred now under 2 week wait so expect I’ll need a colonoscopy. I’m scared it’s bowel cancer even though I’ve been told calprotectin levels of that levels are usually IBD and bowel cancer are usually mildly elevated.

Microscopic Colitis query
Just back from asking my gp if it was worth considering Microscopic
Colitis
- to which she replied “does lightening strike twice?” and had I tried peppermint capsules … I would laugh if I wasn’t so exhausted with it all.

This may seem like a daft question……
Is the fact that Prednisolone is working on two fronts (three in my case as I also have Ulcerative
Colitis
which it has certainly helped) a factor in making it more difficult to taper on the PMR front - ie my daily dose is working harder so will take longer to taper????

PSMA Scan , help with findings
I was removed from Keytruda due a
colitis
reaction, and have been on nothing else. What do you smart one's think about these findings? Ductal form was the pathology report from DX in 2020. Meet with my MO on Monday. Maybe a good time to go fishing... Dave

IV Steroids before Endoscopy/Colonoscopy
Hi all, After being an inpatient for 2.5 weeks with severe diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain and fever I had a sigmoidoscopy yesterday which showed
colitis
. Dr’s are still unsure wether this is truly IBD or due to an infection.

Possible colon cancer
During that colonoscopy the doctor found a 4cm tumor in his cecum and told him that it looks like cancer and he also has either
colitis
or crohns in the anus area, he took biopsies of both and we are waiting for the results. Since the colonoscopy he still has rectal bleeding with flakes of feces.
