It's a good idea to have IBS comforts all sorted out in case they are needed.
I get horribly restless during a bad flare up, so oddly, my garden is one of my comforts! It makes me feel more "normal" as it holds memories of nicer times out there, and a nice "earthed" feeling. I potter about dead-heading or weeding things and trying to raise up my feelings a tiny bit. Fortunately there is a little toilet just yards away if needed!
Another thing is my favourite music. Anything soothing. I like classical, and some of the gentler pieces remind me of happy times, and can almost slip my mind back to those times.
Then there's some source of warmth. I get trembly, chilly and a bit shaky during flares, usually after I've had to go to the toilet for the third or fourth time. Either my little fan heater, plus a blanket, or my log fire, provide warmth that stops me shivering.
You poor thing. I have severe fatigue on the days when my IBS flares up. Inexplicably exhausted and a general feeling of being unwell. Rest and ride it out. It will get better ❤️🩹
