Cisplatin versus Carboplatin
This is my first post. Having had a lower right lobectomy in late December 2016, I am now 6 days into the first of four 3-week cycles of Vinorelbine and Cisplatin (VP) chemotherapy. I have suffered mild Tinnitus for the past 25 years without any real problems and discussed this with my Onc doctor. The

Any advice welcome..
Hello everyone I've been diagnosed with pluerisy, on steroids (predisolone 40mg) for 7 days, almost instant relief but then I checked out the side effects, not too sure now if I want to carry on taking them. The list goes on and on, getting more and more horrendous. I'm totally breathless, can't eat,

Until recently I was able to leave my wife for hours even several days at times. I used a service that came in one or two times daily to make sure she ate, took her meds and assist with her colostomy. My wife was able to take care of our dog and herself with the assistance of the service. Recently

How do you stay positive?
Hi! I'm new to the site. I was diagnosed with NSCLC, stage IIIA in August of 2016. I was schocked to find I had lung cancer since I never smoked and lived pretty healthy lifestyle. Shortly after the diagnosis i had an upper left side lobectomy followed by 4 rounds of very tough Chemo with Cisplatin

Starting chemotherapy
I am recently new with the group I have read so many stories and just want to say my heart goes out to each and everyone. I was diagnosed with small cell cancer with a tumor on my right upper lung. They said it looked to be isolated and a lobectomy should be all I need. Four weeks later when I went to

15 days til my last treatment!
Feeling so excited about my last treatment. I'm a little worried about the surgeries to remove the colostomy bag. But the excitement of no more chemo after February 15th is taking the fear away for now.

Middle Lobe Lobectomy
Hi, back in December a 5.5cm mass was found in my right lung via a CT scan. I've had a PET scan which showed the area concerned as 'hot' but a needle biopsy was inconclusive. After seeing a surgeon last week I've been told that I have to have a middle lobe lobectomy. I'm so incredibly nervous about the

Advice- surgery
Hi there I'm asking for advice for my sister. She was diagnosed with a thyroid 'lesion' 3cm, about 3 months ago, has had various FN biopsies, the last one they told her 'inconclusive' and that could not rule out malignancy... Therefore, to have surgery to remove lesion and lobectomy (although since its

My Story
Had right
colectomy
surgery and 1 month later a left mastectomy. Started radiation treatments to complete 36 or 6640 cGv. 2 months later caught what I thought pneumonia, which was confirmed, nodules on the lung. Turns out to be TNBC Metastasized.

Would just like to say Hi!
Well.... Hello, I am a 48 year old married Mum of 2 from Lancashire in the UK. In 2013 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer after emergency surgery for a perforated bowel. A Hartman's procedure was carried out and I was left with what is now a permanent colostomy. Unfortunately due to post operative complications

Chemo & Surgery or Chemo & Radiotherapy ?
Thank you so much to every one who responded to an earlier post, the feedback was really encouraging for me. I'm in somewhat of a dilemma, it would seem that it is to be my decision as to whether I have Chemo with Radio therapy or Chemo followed by a Lobectomy of the left lung. The problem is no one
