Having never taken meds for thyroid before and having had a total lobectomy I have been on 50micrograms of Levothyroxine for 2 weeks now. The first week the change was amazing. Had so much more energy, not breathless, not dizzy, no more total wiped out exhaustion.
However, 2 weeks in and I am starting to feel tired again - by about 11am I feel tired - not that complete exhaustion but just a steady tired feeling. I also felt a bit dizzy again this morning.
I am no way as bad as I was before taking Levo but out of a matter of interest I wondered if your body gets used to Levo and plateaus out?
If this continues, is it a sign that the dose needs to be increased?
I am due to have blood tests in 4 weeks to asses how I have been getting on and so this will tell me if the dose needs increasing but I am just curious about how it works.
Thank you

That's right, it's a sign that you need an increase in dose. And, this will happen every time you have an increase - feel better at first, then symptoms return - until you're on the right dose for you.
Thank you. Hope my consultant isnt one of those that looks at my range and if im within it, thinks im ok! I'm not very good at challenging people in authority!!!
Such an in-depth crazy thing our thyroid. It amazes me that we (as a society) know so little about it and it plays such a major part of our body and it's function.
