This was in April 18 they reached in August and said That er was to much scar tissue to see if it had gone they just x-ray every 6weeks. But he has bin n so much pain n his left side for weeks I demanded a ct with contrast for stomach chest and abdo and that came bk showing 2 spots on his spleen and need investigated so have to wait on pet scan. Wee just received a date for the pet for 4 Dec. My question is has anyone ever heard of lung cancer spread to ypur spleen thanks you x

Dear Kevin1973,
Splenic metastases from primary lung cancer is extremely rare and in one research paper the incidence of splenic metastasis from primary lung cancer has been reported as 1.2 to 5.6% . Also evidence from medical oncologists in Germany in 2017 suggest that until now, only 28 cases have been reported in the medical literature.Hopefully the medical staff will have a fuller picture after the PET scan tomorrow.
Kind regards,
All the team at the Roy Castle Helpline
