I know better not to smoke. Whilst quitting are losengers or patch ok to use.How much damage does smoking do to the liver? And is it the nicotine and/or the toxins in the smoke?

Baracitinib & Cholesterol
Good morning, Has anybody seen their cholesterol become very high whilst being on Baricitinib? If so what was the outcome, did you continue to take it or stop it. I’m waiting to hear from my Rheumy who is very good so I don’t know what he’ll advise but I’m hoping I’m not told to go onto Statins but

Increased Heart Rate
When I was first diagnosed as having AF I felt pretty bad. My heart rate was never very fast, typical resting heart rate was around 80bpm but I’ve been on beta blockers for years. I did though frequently feel light headed, tired etc. Then I had a cardioversion and felt great. Heart rate came back down

”Progressive”
I have a progressive form of cerebral vasculitis, though am doing good to still be here after 29 years! It started in 1994 when I was just 22. Hugely neurologically disabling, and progressive, despite masses of treatment thrown at it. So it was a shock last week to get a call for jury duty. I am mostly

Any advice for pain for a broken shoulder
I will try not to offend anyone haha. Could anyone give me some advice for my husband? 3 weeks ago he had a nasty fall playing walking football he is 73 years old and very fit. He broke his shoulder, bruised his ribs and his arm turned black and blue. Since then he has been to orthopedics to check

Rheumy Appointment
Hi I have a rheumy appointment today . I’m really concerned that she will fob me off about my ‘PMR’ . I’ve seen her once before , in June . She confirmed I didn’t have GCA , which I was treated for due to symptoms of GCA . I was in on a high dose of pred - 40mg per day , she tapered me over 8weeks

Hi Everyone, A year ago I was diagnosed the NAFLD Cirrhosis to summarise Child Scale A, Meld 7 and well compensated. I was having an endoscopy for something else. Initially was shocked, panicked and experienced a myriad of emotions. I’ve just had a review after a year my first scan, and liver function

Update to private cardiology consultation.
I am really pleased with today’s appointment. I gave him a list I had typed of all my questions and he went through them one by one. He was very happy with the Kardia ecg printouts and didn’t require an ecg there. We discussed many things Af and heart related. He also reviewed my cholesterol figures

Meal sizes
I'm sticking to what I should n shouldn't eat and the same with fluid. My question is, is it safe to each larger meals ( again with the correct nutritional details ), it is just the larger the portion the more bloated I feel. This is only temporary and if I didn't have cirrhosis i would probably just

Brain fog
Hi All I have been on Bisopropol 1.25 twice daily for nearly 2 years. During that time I notice the brain fog and short term memory loss has become worse. I also have tight calves which cramp at times which is temporarily quite painful. I wonder if other people have found this and if they have changed

Did I get this wrong
So I’ve worked my frequency’s out on the basis of when I feel breathless and achy I’ve overdone it and prob need to increase my shots or I’ve left too long a gap, but usually it’s a max of one week between them so I had a rethink as my pains increased I’ve not felt well for weeks and despite increasing

Hemp cbd capsules
I've started taking hemp cbd capsules, 50mg, they ate great for relaxing your muscles, good sleep, and in turn ease pain, they are expensive but worth every penny.i got them from Holland and Barretts, £70 for 30 capsules, but at minute if you buy 1 you get second half price
