I’ve been taken vitamins since October. I have had a full blood count last week all normal, my urine came back normal .I have noticed aches and pains in my upper arms, neck and shoulders.. This might sound silly just wondering if anyone experienced the same.I have got under-active thyroid should I still

Doxazosin
I was diagnosed with compensated cirrhosis in 2017. Today I was prescribed Doxazosin, an alpha blocker, for palpitations and hypertension. This is supplementary to the Irbesartan and Felodipine I've been on for many years. But I'm not happy with the leaflet on the medication, which lists liver problems

Stage 4 Cirrhosis can be compensated?
My husband was diagnosed with Cirrhosis via liver biopsy. He is 65 years old. The liver specialist says the biopsy indicates Stage 4 cirrhosis. His fibrosis was also stage 4. But liver specialist also says his liver is compensated? How can this be? He has been prescribed lactulose, spirolactone

BUN/creatinine
I saw that my BUN level was low . At what stage of cirrhosis would cause a low BUN? And BUN/creatinine ratio? I’m hoping it’s just low from being well hydrated but I read liver cirrhosis can also be a cause and I had a few other numbers low or high.

hepatitis to cirrhosis
Is it possible for an alcoholic to progress to cirrhosis without ever having alcoholic hepatitis? What are the chances of someone who heavily drinks to get cirrhosis without warning signs before it gets to that point?

Turning things around
I just wanted to write to show other readers that you can turn things around. I wrote on here a couple of weeks ago venting frustration at the lack of communication regarding test results and finally got to see a consultant yesterday. I was admitted to hospital in May last year via A & E and was

French Vanilla ice cream on a meringue nest. Fresh sliced strawberries and bananas with strawberry, caramel sauce, or... milk chocolate shell with peanuts and Skor (toffee) pieces. Hmm? Which one to have? You decide.

Compensated or Decompensated
I was diagnosed in May 2019 with Cirrhosis and my Hepatologist told me it was Compensated and I would be monitored in the liver clinic every 6 months (the pandemic put paid to that plan). I've subsequently had two endoscopies which show six varices, one of which shows some evidence of past bleeding.

Pacemaker Box Replacement
After 13 years my pacemaker is coming to the end of its useful life and I have been called for a replacement next week at my local NHS hospital. My current medication includes Apixaban, Sotalol, Candesartan and Furosemide. Past 80, little choice and am somewhat apprehensive of all that is involved. Anybody

given up
Drs refusing to admit there’s any need for further B12 injections. So had my loading doses in October and I’m “wishing the reference ranges” Had another telephone conversation with a different doctor and she was reading from the same script. “Take supplements until October then we’ll retest” They

How long should I wait?
68, male, no underlying conditions, relatively fit, not overweight. Afib diagnosed 2019. 2 cardioversions in 2020, 3 months apart. No problems since until recently. Irregular heartbeat returned 2 days ago, after overworking on a diy project then stupidly rewarding myself with alcohol. On Apixiban
