What did your doctor suggest for food/diet before the surgery was done? Did your doctor give you a list of what you can/cannot eat/drink? What did you get for medication?

Normal Diet... fortunately am Vegetarian .. Have suffered with diabetes for more then 20 years now.. Had a Angioplasty 2 years back.. am eating what i used to before the surgery. The thing is we are already following modified diet for diabetes before the surgery itself. For a Veggie nothing changes.

Good your diet is the same as before . I am also a vegetarian. And my diet is also the diabetic’s diet . No fried stuff and less salt . Are you on medication still ? I am taking blood thinners , BP meds and a very low dose statin . Feel a bit tired sometimes but maybe due to the meds

Hi ,

I have been come after a long time. Any how I am diabetic since 1995. First stent was put in my artery in October 2012 and then January 2023 was 2nd . Thanks God

Every thing is ok. My cardiologist did not advise me to take any special or specific food. Both stents were put by the same doctor.

And I am taking continuously aspirin 75 mg , bisoprolol 10mg , losartan 50 mg and atorvastatin 10mg. Along with these medications I take 4 types of medicines for diabetes. 😂

Great that everything is fine . I had 2 stents put in at the same time in the same artery (LAD ) . Why was a second stent put in your case ? Was it in the same artery as before or same ? I am also taking more or less the same medication as you apart from daily insulin injection

Hello,

Many people have gone through stent, blood glucose has been a problem with diet.

you need to buy book on CAL and CARB, X-Pert daibetic management.

These books are available to by online. Good involvement.

Control diet, regular exercise will and can help you towards good health.

Eat plenty of of green leaf veg, Asian specie and Sri Lankan cinnamon.

Medication statin as secondary is important to help with blood flow.

Take care

jay!

2nd stent was put on the same artery but just before where the 1st was put.

No any restriction for any fruit and vegetables. Just try to avoid fatty and creamy products. But take the fatty and creamy products but very low quantity.

I see Jaybeebala wanted experience of similarly placed patients about managing DM2 after palcement of Stents. I am 76. Am diabetic since 2003. Have undergone placement of two stents in Dec 2018, one each on LAD and LCx. My cardiological treatment is followed as per advise of the Cardiologyst. The Cardilogist also monitors the status of my DM2. I was advised to maintain HbA1c under 7.0 with FBS and PPBS under limits. I have been taking Metformin 1g and Glimepride 1mg since 2004 and the Diabetes was under control as advised. However, during the last three years, I had two bouts of severe Prostities and UTI and a bout of COVID19. When I went for reiview in Apr this year, Cardiologist advised to add Linagliptin 5mg OD to improve my HbA1c from 6.8. Now I have my HbA1c at 5.7. All other Blood and Physical state NORMAL. I am 180cm with 72Kg and Veg.

Hope the above helps
