Am I safe after stopping Stark's?
I used to have high lipid history since 4 years. Like TC 250, TG 270, HDL 44, LDL 170. With 5 mg daily Rosuvastatins, I'll have normal lipid profile. But I have history as below: 2 or 3 months daily Rosuvastatins 5mg (though doctors prescribed 20 mg), and stopping it for next 2 or 3 month. After stopping

3 years ago I mentioned to my go that my dad had his first heart attack at the age of 32. I was 32 at the time. I was sent for a cholesterol test. I am 5ft 2 and weigh 9 stone. It came back as a total of 7.5. They told me it was genetic and sent me for tests on my heart which were all clear. I was then

Hello
Happy new year, everyone. After Christmas time I thought to get back into shape in a sustainable way. Last year I had managed to reach a "good BMI" (around 27.5) reducing the cholesterol level, hence risk of heart diseases, given they are part of my family history (my father died with heart attack, his

Coconut oil is good for you!!!
Is this proof coconut oil is GOOD for you? Like most experts, TV's Dr Michael Mosley feared it was bad for your heart but now a remarkable experiment has changed his mind UK sales of the oil increased from £4.4 million in 2014 to £24 million this year There was much debate and myths about whether

High Fibre in the diet
I struggle to include the 30g of fibre that we are advised to eat daily. Last night I watched 'Food Unwrapped' where they filmed the Hadza tribe in Tanzania. These people apparently have 40% more good bacteria in their gut than the rest of the world because they consume on average, 150g of fibre!

A Very Big Adventure
There was a time when the idea of going out in brightly coloured running shoes, tights, fluorescent tops adorned with gps watches just would never have happened - but not anymore! If you run you will have adventures - your life will never be the same again… I started running again about this time last

Cholesterol & High-Grade PCa.
New study [1]. Somewhat perplexing. It has been known for a century that solid tumors accumulate cholesterol. In PCa, cholesterol within cancer cells can be used to generate androgens. And, if cholesterol uptake is inhibited, the cells can manufacture cholesterol (unless prevented via a statin.) "
