I have been denied IVIG by NHS England . I have been prescribed immunosuppressant medication instead .
I feel bad on them after only three days of taking them. I am dragging myself about feeling lethargic. Dizzy: low mood: and tearful. I wonder if anybody else has had experience of a similar drug to suppress the immune system ? Thanks in advance.

IVIG experiences to share with a newbie?
I'm being put on IVIG in the next few weeks as a trial to improve my SLE but I don't really know much about it. The Wikipedia article is lacking and I just wanted to get feedback on side effects and just how it feels and what it did for those of you who've had the treatment. Thanks in advance for the

Hello everyone, a few weeks ago I was extremely concerned about a surgery I was having, ( L5-S1 spinal fusion) well, I had the operation and everything went good. I had to stay in the hospital for 4 days as I couldn't walk for 2 days. It was extremely painful but it is getting better everyday. I am moving

Week 7 first run
I have just completed the first run of week 7 using the podcasts. Have to say these are great, I would not have done it without them. I had spinal fusion surgery 11 months ago and have not even been able to run for a bus in years, I walked with a stick 3 years ago. I have amazed myself with what I can

L5-S1 spinal fusion
OK everyone, I had my fusion Wednesday the 16th. Yes it is extremely painful but I made it and already feel better. I had 6 screw's 2 pins and a plate installed. That carved a peace of hip bone to help fuse everything. I can't walk too well just yet but really pushing my self. I guess I was scared

My son is 20 months old and was diagnosed with itp a few weeks before his first birthday. He's had ivig, whinrow(not sure if the spelling),
He's been on prednisilone since September, and just recently a rituxin infusion. He also had a bone marrow biopsy before starting the steroids. He's on a low dosage, only 2.5ml a day. We are trying to wean him off of them now. Problem is, his platelets usually stay between 10 and 12. The rituxin put

just started Imuran did that work for anyone with ITP? I am on prednisone but the side effects are so awful so dr is trying to ween me off.
I've had 6 treatments of rituxan but it had no affect. I have also gone through several treatments of ivig which works but is short lived.

I am about to have IVIG to try to improve my balance problems in my legs. Has anybody else had this treatment? If so, did it help?

I have been on quite a combination of drugs, fighting last relapse, since November: rituximab, two 4-day pulses of dexamethasone 40mg 1st and 3rd week, IVIG, then azathioprine for 2 weeks and then 6-MP for 2 weeks. As rituximab has eventually worked, I was taken off 6-MP about a month ago and after

From one extreme to the next! Does anyone feel like their body is letting them down :/
Hi, I'm new to this site, so I thought I would share my experience. I'm now 28 years old. I was diagnosed with ITP in 2009. My count wasn't too bad sitting normally between 70-90. I then fell pregnant in 2013, within the first two months my count had dropped to 9. I then began treatment with ivig every

Does anybody know if Ibrutnib threatment "cures" the need for IVIG or will the patient still have a compromised immunesystem?

I developed itp during pregnancy with count >80,000. I also had protein in my urine which the docs say is not related. I think they are.
A year after my son was born my platelets have dropped down to 4000 and I was placed on prednisone. My body responds well to this but my doc is pushing for this ivig. Should I take it if the prednisone is working.

Newly diagnosed. How does PBC impact existing health problems?
Hi I was diagnosed with PBC four months ago after having a series of confused / dizzy spells leading to scans, blood tests. So I did all the practical stuff, I read the leaflets, improved my diet, took my Ursofalk and bar a few stomach upsets it was business as usual. From what I've read at this point
