Ideas, anyone?
I need to lose about 70 pounds and have needed to do so for many years. I’ve really tried to follow a low carb diet because I know that works for me. The trouble is that I run out of energy and get desperate for carbs, including sugar. I’d love to get some ideas from others on how to stay on track.

The curious case of gluten free
I have rarely eaten gluten on a daily basis as part of my normal diet. Mostly because I have a low carb diet but eat carbs after exercise and ofcourse I love red wine on a Sat night. Well since I hit the wall as far as Levo treatment goes (summer 2018) I’ve been tying to find out what’s wrong with me

Need help losing weight
I know that I can lose weight, sleep better, and feel better if I can stick to a low-carb diet but am having difficulty doing so. I’m in my mid seventies, which adds to the difficulty, but I’m young for my age in many ways and would really appreciate advice on how to stick to my diet.

T3 advice
Hi folks I’d dearly like some advice on T3 treatment. I’ve been on levo for around 6 years and I’m also a type 1 diabetic so both are auto immune disorders. I am going to have a private blood test to have a thorough check as I’m not sure I trust the TSH only test. As well as taking 150mg of thyroxine

Free T3 went to minus, is very low
Hi, my last thyroid lab values shows that my free T3 is in minus, it never was. I have no thyroid since 2009. I take Levo 125mcg TSH: 2.8 Free FT3: -15% Free FT4: 40% A year ago I got reflux, so went on low carb high fat diet, which helps to my reflux. Maybe bcs of high fat my Free T3 is low now? My

Products for bacteria imbalance
Hi all. I have been following the low carb high fat diet for almost 2 weeks. The belief behind it is that you starve the bad bacteria of sugars and starches to eliminate it. I have stuck to the diet strictly but have not noticed any difference. I am currently taking Bimuno and have tried various probiotics

Questions About Lupron
I received my first Lupron shot 3 1/2 weeks ago. Age 72. Gleason 7. Had PC since 2002. RP in 2002, RT in 2003, PSA finally reach 4.2 in 2012, Cassodex from 2012 and now Cassodex + Lupron. 6 Bone mets. So far side effects are manageable. Hot flashes are coming more often, but I try to ignore them and

Relax...
I've been giving some thought about the whole paradigm surrounding LCHF, keto etc. Our ancestors, recent and past, were almost certainly never in ketosis, at least on a permanent basis but for people wanting to change their lifestyle some will freak out unless the urine sticks are purple, and will panic

Thiamine Diet
What I heard.... it’s ideal if your diet is lighter on the refined carbohydrates (ideally a low carb diet as high blood sugar levels blocks thiamine ability to enter the cell), and limit coffee/tea intake to 2 cups a day. (or less).

Very Important information for GCA sufferers
Hello there, I’ve not posted for a few months,- sorry, but I think this is important information for anyone with GCA I was originally diagnosed with GCA in May 2017 ( when I was 67) but have had no pain whatsoever since those first 2 weeks. Initially, I was put on 60mg prednisolone. Unfortunately

Hello everyone
This is my first time on this site while travelling to London for the cistinuria patient day. I look forward to seeing some of you there. A bit about me... I am now 50. I had my right kidney removed aged 15 because it was filled with stones and had failed. I was then diagnosed with cystinuria when

Food Intolerances
I know guidance is to eat a dairy and gluten free diet, however how many of you do this because you have to, rather than from choice? In October 2017 I had what the doctors diagnosed as Norovirus. Once I recovered from Norovirus, I started to (very quickly) have problems with a lot of the food I was

T3 Dose Has Been Reduced
I previously posted that my doctor had agreed to give me a trial of Cytomel (T3). I began taking it in December 2018, at which point my free T3 was below the new range of 2.0 to 4.4 at 1.9 pg/mL. Upon retesting in February, my FT3 had gone up to 3.0 pg/mL, FT4 went up from 1.5 ng/mL to 1.6 ng/mL (0.60

Again a study on the dangers of low carb diet.
Low carb diet is more or less a fad. Still there are dangers with cutting carbs too low long term that cannot be compensated by proteins or fat. https://www.acc.org/about-acc/press-releases/2019/03/06/10/29/low-carb-diet-tied-to-common-heart-rhythm-disorder

Fatty liver
I got a fibro scan just few days ago .This what he said:The recent liver FibroScan confirms advanced fatty liver disease, more than two-thirds of the liver replaced by fat. But fortunately--and this is good news--there is no cirrhosis or even advanced scarring. These issues however are future risks and

Amenorrhea over 2.5 years
Hello. I'm posting here on behalf of my almost 18 year old daughter. She started menstruating two days before her 12th birthday. She has pretty much only had a couple hard periods in her life, otherwise, a light bleeder. She started running cross country and track for her middle and then high school
