Supplement schedule query - which should be taken apart from others?
Hello! I've been SI since late 2017, but have changed my co-factor (and other) supplement regime over time - including recently re-introducing folinic acid, having become folate deficient. I've always had low ferritin and months ago started Simply Heme iron supplements, which are supposed to be easier

Update- I no longer take Dipyridamole
I have been meaning to update the group on this. I have stopped taking Dipyridamole for over a month now, closer to two months. I took Dipyridamole for two years. I was nearing the end of my Dipyridamole supply. I was wondering how much it was helping. So I stopped abruptly. Since then I have

How can I increase level of vitamin B12 in my body?
There is a lot of weakness in my body, when I got the blood test done, I have a lot of deficiency of calcium and vitamin B12, so how can I make up for this deficiency when I do not eat non-veg?

Cortisol and stomach acid influencing calcium absorption
I've been wondering about the main reasons of my severe osteoporosis, and have recently come accross two possible contributions: 1) High levels of cortisol due to long term psychological stress, and 2) Low levels of stomach acid that has impaired the calcium absorption. I took the test with natron

Alpro Almond Milk..... why do they do this? Any chemists have words of advice?
I stopped having cow's milk sometime ago and have been very happy using Alpro Almond milk instead. It contains Vitamins D2, E, B2 and B12 and calcium as shown in the photo. I noticed today that the packaging had changed and thought to myself "I wonder if anything else has?" So I checked. Yes indeed

Night sweats etc.
I am tapering down from 30mg pred since April 2022 and I am now down to 3mg (4mg alternate days). I am finding I am having a lot of night sweats. Has anyone found else had this problem and if so how long it lasts for? I have to add that I have recently been diagnosed with osteoporosis, and didn't know

K2 supplement
Having read on this forum that calcium/D3 is best supplemented with K2 to aid absorption, I've been taking it with my (prescribed) iCal D3 chewable tablets for some years. I had breast cancer in 2016 and was prescribed Letrozole, and as I had radiotherapy too, advised to take iCal and Alendronic Acid

Staying on 5mg indefinitely.....
Forgive me if I've brought this up before but after my rheumatologist advised me that there are little or no side effects when on 7.5mg prednisolone providing one takes the right precautions - Calcium, Vit D supplements and healthy eating habits e.g. low or no sugar, low or no carbs, etc. I thought I

Blood test results
Could you help me make sense of these? 18 months ago my GP lowered my levothyroxine dose on the basis of a suppressed TSH. I got all the symptoms back. I did not have a blood test between Jan 2022 and a fortnight ago. I waited 15 months for this hospital appointment. The consultant wrote to me with

Statin Side Effects
Hi I have been on statins for many years now and for about 12 months I have been feeling quite generally unwell occasionally. Mainly weak, achy, shaky & sometimes upset stomach. I’ve had blood tests & calcium levels are found to be raised. GP said that statins wouldn’t cause high calcium levels,

Microvascular Angina
Hello . I have recently been diagnosed with Microvascular Angina , following an Angiogram last week, that showed my major arteries are unobstructed. I had a Myocardial Perfusion Scan some months ago , that showed a moderate Ischemia under stress , and a CT Coronary Scan which showed a high calcium

Calcium Confusion
Not sure if this info matters, but I do have regulated hypothyroid and am on NP thyroid. And calcium has always been normal, around 9. Any time I take calcium supplements I get a bad headache and kinda feel loopy/confused…anyone know why or experience similar? It’s hard to find any info on it. So now

Help for appointment.
Hi, I have my first actual face to face appointment with my Endo on Tuesday next week since lock down. I had written to him a few months back to say I wasn't feeling particularly great, and I pointed out my just in range T4 and said I think I would benefit with an increase in my Levothyroxine and maybe

update part two!
The lovely cardiac medical secretary called me yesterday as the consultant emailed her about my questions. To be honest it sounds like the consultant thinks I have already had my calcium ct scan results, which I haven’t! He said some calcifications doesn’t always mean heart disease - I didn’t know I

High White cell and neutrophils
I had a blood test last Thursday, on viewing it said both above normal on the white cell count and neutrophils. I'm still waiting for the others to come back like ferritin, B12, folate, liver function, CRP, thyroid function, vit d, calcium, lipids and U&E's. I have been feeling a bit rubbish but the
