update part two!

The lovely cardiac medical secretary called me yesterday as the consultant emailed her about my questions. To be honest it sounds like the consultant thinks I have already had my calcium ct scan results, which I haven’t! He said some calcifications doesn’t always mean heart disease - I didn’t know I had calcifications as I haven’t had the results. He said he’s sticking with the plan of me having an angiogram. I didn’t like to ask her to contact him again. So, it sounds like I have some calcification somewhere, no idea what it means, so I’ll have to wait for my angiogram. Hope this post makes sense!

Your post does make sense :). I think we can sometimes panic or worry when we hear something that we don’t quite understand. The cardiologist seems like they know what they are doing, and the angiogram will definitely reveal more on whether the calcification is of concern or not as it will show blockages and other important things about your heart health.

Let us know how the angiogram goes and try not to worry until your results come back after the procedure.

All the best.

I agree with Tos. I had a recent angiogram, my second following one back in November after my NSTEMI, because, as my cardiologist said, they'd marinated me long enough and it wsd time to go back on the BBQ 🙂. Basically, after several trips to hospital with chest pain, suggestions of (un)stable angina and trying more medication it was time to have another look. The cardiology team at my hospital are lovely and our cath lab is so new and state of the art I feel well looked after and quite chilled in there, and I hate having things stuck in me. I half expected to come out as a new marvel hero 🦹. Now on fewer drugs as they've decided I don't need the nicorandil or isosorbide snd that, with the chsnge to Rosuvastatin and Vit D supplement As well, I'm starting to feel better.

Take care and keep us posted.

That’s good news for you, I’m pleased you’re feeling better. You’ve been through a lot. I’m not looking forward to the angiogram whenever I have it but will be pleased to hopefully get an answer and treatment plan. I was out in London today, walked miles around Regents Park and the renovated Kings Cross area and it did affect my breathing and I had a slight tight band around my ribs again - maybe because I stopped the beta blockers- haven’t used the spray yet but if I had this tight discomfort again when I’m at home I’ll use the spray and if it works then it’s angina! Thanks again and I’ll keep everyone posted x
