P -Afib. Doctornow wanting to prescribe lopemide
I've had P-Afib for a few years now well managed with a calcium blocker SR Verapamil. Due to an unrelated condition another specialist has recommended Lopermide 2mg 3×s per day up to 5xs per day. I'm not keen to take it like this long termly as I see irregular heart beat & palpitations is linked to this

Timing of calcium supplements
I know that it is a no-no to take Adcal, Accrete etc within 2 hours of pred because the resultant 'soup' impedes the pred from being absorbed. But is this the case with gastric-coated pred? I notice that on the PIL it says it should be taken within 1 1/2 hours of a meal. Gets tricky when you have to

parathyroid blood test question
hi Has anyone had a parathyroid blood test? My appointment is 8.25am, so should I follow the usual fasting and Levo 24 hours before routine? Do I stop/ reduce D3/K2? currently on 4000iu drops. I’ve read it makes sense to get calcium and vit D tested at the same time. Anyone know if this is routine

Blood work your doctor should order before prescribing medications for OP
Please help . Someone posted a list of blood test that your doctor should do before you take any medicines for OP. It had a test listed for bone markers and if your calcium was being absorbed in your bones among many other blood work test. Can someone please repost that long list of test? I would really

Anyone clued up on bone health please?
I recently had a bone scan and was very concerned to learn that there had been severe degenerative changes to both my spine and hips which weren't expected as my scan 3 years ago wasn't bad. They did take me off Alendronic Acid 18 months ago at which time I also went gluten and dairy free (found out

Thoughts on this please?
Keen to do things through my skin rather than my stomach where feasible...plenty of skin only one rather delicate stomach! No rabbits or amigos this evening..... well, you never know 🙃 Edit.... Interesting, not much feed back on the calcium aspect... I'm off to find a rabbit hole 😉

Thyroid and vitamin d possible side effects
Hi everyone. Quick question I've just lowered my thyroxine from 150/125 mg alternative to just 125mg everyday. I was getting weird anxiety and just mentally feeling unwell. Especially around 4-6pm. Now I'm little better after 3 months but occasionally I seem to be feeling mentally not right. I need

Cold Turkey Stop of Bisoprolol for PVC’s Change to Diltiazem
Hi, I’m a healthy 45 yr old female recently diagnosed with high rate of PVC’s. My heart is healthy, no damage but I’m being referred by my current cardiologist and waiting for an MRI and appointment with a specialist in another city as he said it looks like I’ll need an ablation as the meds have not

Paralysed Brother diagnosed with severe heart failure, scared and confused as constantly getting conflicting information
DB was taken to hospital last week suffering severe breathlessness and erratic heartbeat. He is paralysed following a spinal cord injury 7 years ago. Upon admission he was also discovered to have low sodium and calcium and "deranged bloods". I live very far away and so called the hospital every day

High BP, meds don't work
I am 67, female, moderately overweight, 5,8, 165# . Moderate hypertension for many years, well controlled with Losartan. Losartan stopped working, placed on Valsartan, which is basically Losartan with a water pill. Several months ago developed high BP, averaging 180/105 upon awakening, dropping

Weakness, Vulnerability, Instability, and Fear
Before I was diagnosed, I was quite healthy. I worked out 5-6 days per week, didn't smoke, drink much, or eat meat ( I did eat seafood, so I wasn't a vegetarian). I did have a periodic , long-term struggle with depression, but I was kind of used to coping with it. Since my diagnosis, about 4 years
