Latest Update - Post Surgery during Pandemic
Hi All, Just thought I'd post an update. I ended up opting for the double mastectomy, and had the surgery on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th). Considering the hospital was already in COVID-19 lockdown mode, I'm glad I went ahead with the surgery since now most surgeries are postponed. Also the plastic

All stable - Phew
Hi My Oncologist rang yesterday and advised that me bloods were fine and I can continue on palbociclib & letrozole. As you know, I’m missing a couple of Denosumab injections. So I celebrated stable yesterday, by baking scones & enjoying a cream tea with my husband & a bottle of champagne 🍾 I’m so

Ibrance vs Piquray
I have been stable almost 2 years on Ibrance, Letrazole and Xgeva. My latest bone scan is stable. The CT showed that a "shadow" in my liver grew about 1cm (previous 7 tumors are gone). My Oncologist wants to change me to Piquray and Fuvestrant, because I have the mutation. But he has no patients currently

Good News for HER2 Positive MBC Patients!
If your cancer is HER2 positive and you’ve already had one or more HER2-directed therapies for metastatic disease, then you’re eligible to receive the newly-approved combination of the oral drug Tukysa (Tucatinib) with Xeloda (capecitabine) and Herceptin (or an approved biosimilar). FDA-approval

Writing Through Cancer
Eight years ago after being diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer, I came upon a writing workshop in my area called Writing Through Cancer. It spoke to me and I have since gotten to know several remarkable women through this experience. My mentor/facilitator no longer lives locally, but she does post

Feeling Abandoned and pointless
Today I feel like ending my life. The trauma the pain I have endured is bad enough without being made to feel unimportant or that what happened to me is insignificant. I was told that I was to have reconstructive surgery in six months, this has been the only thing getting me through this nightmare. A

Hair, will it regrow or won't it
For me, it has been 15 months since last taxol round. I'm up to round 29 in a few days for Herceptin and Perjeta. My hair has come back in, but very thin, (use to be very thick and curly/wavy) and as if there are fewer follicles in play. Is this my lot now, or will it get better over time? I know
