Rapid weight loss with TB meningitis
My boyfriend has been ill in South Afruca with a mystery illness. It has been 'diagnosed' as TB meningitis, more because they are at a loss as to what it is although his first csf showed meningitis. He has had 4 lumbar punctures which should show him improving but they show him getting worse. He has

I'm preparing to undergo dbs surgery at ku med in January for pd. I'm concerned about the surgery and the after care that will be needed. Any thoughts or advice, welcomed.

My anxiety constantly makes me think I'm going to die. I can't keep living like this!
I believe my anxiety started at least about three years ago. I was doing volunteer campaign like passing out legislature and all that stuff. Where all the stuff out of nowhere I was attacked by someone's loose dog, a pitbull. You left a dime-sized puncture in the back of my leg. The recent man who I

Long term effects from Meningitis as a child?
I had meningitis when I was 10 years old [in quarantine for 6 months] what sort of medical conditions could I be the most susceptible to in later life? Or be wary of?

recurrence of viral meningitis
Hi, I am new to posting! I first had VM in 2014 and spent a week in hospital where I had a lumber puncture to confirm diagnosis. For several months I had headaches and tingling in my legs. Apart from tiredness my recovery was not too bad. About a month ago I started having back pain and headaches.

PLEASE HELP ME :'( ANXIETY OR BRAIN TUMOUR?
Hi everyone! This might be a little long so please bare with me. I suffer with menstrual headaches that usually go away with ibuprofen but this month my headache lasted for a week and no amount of ibuprofen would budge it! I ended up going to the hospital, they gave me two panadine forte and two ibuprofen

Neuros and movement specialist
Many pwp are dissatisfied with their specialists. Every neuro is a self proclaimed expert and the best out there! But sadly they only have a few things they can influence with pd: 1) Prescribe meds: l/d, agonists and azilect. Basically if you feel compromised and you have pd then l/d is prescribed and

Living in the Shadow
In the spring of 1997 I had completed my first triathlon sprint. I was young and fit and full of life! I was living alone and woke up a week after the event feeling fine. At work, a headache began as did a sharp pain in my back. By the end of the day I was hardly able to walk home. That night I went

Hi all - I've just been browsing through Pubmed and came across this study http://www.clinph-journal.com/article/S1388-2457(16)30523-5/abstract. I can't access the full article, only the abstract that states 'ppn deep brain stimulation has emerged as a potential treatment for balance disorders'. It

Overcoming Life's Challenges through Mindfulness
Hi everyone, I have been a sufferer of anxiety, stress, and chronic illness for most of my life, but I'm on a journey to heal physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, spiritually, and find a joyful purpose to pursue in life. I'm happy to share my struggles with anxiety disorder and Lyme disease

Headaches! Pressure! And vision!
The triple threat! Anyone else have primarily head symptoms as part of their physical anxiety? Since my problems are mostly all head related now I'm starting to get antsy about what's going on, everything else seemed to get better but the head stuff. I've pretty much have constant dull headaches that

My daughter was given a

Tumour. I had read about this and bought some - we had nothing to lose - only her. I spoon fed it to her for weeks - months even, taking breaks then resuming it. This carried on for a long time.

Dizzy and impatient
Hi, I am supposed to fly over on Thurs morning 7 am to Bucharest to have all the scans and MRI tests done all over again just to ensure that everything looks good. But since Friday I've been counting the hours and the days until my departure as can't help but think of what the test results may reveal

New MRI this month
Due to severe anxiety I decided to have a new MRI in a different country in 10 days time just to rule out the possibility of having developed a brain tumor since the date of my last brain MRI which was done on 10-Aug-2016. Although all the docs I met said this is very unlikely, I am worried about revealing
