IBS D and Piles
I wonder how many IBS D sufferers get bothered with Piles. Generally piles more associated with constipation, however, I have the D variety and have also suffered quite badly with Piles for approx. , the last 20 years. This just makes the whole episode of multiple BM's even worse. Recently ,

Health anxiety is ruining my life!
I have always dealt with depression and anxiety. Ever since I was like 10. It was never about my health though. I'm a pretty healthy person. Im not overweight, I don't drink or smoke, And I work out. However within the last few months my health has been all that I can think about. Two months ago I was

Cisplatin anyone?
Hello I've reacted to my last dose of carboplatin, having had extra steroids and antihistamines as I also reacted to the last, second, infusion. It was working so seems to me that the most similar other chemo, which seems to be cisplatin, would be my best option. Does anyone have experience of cisplatin

Aren't doctors amazing!!
My doctor fully understand everything I say to him! Just got back and I feel so relieved that someone listens to me!! I went in the room sat down and cried my eyes out he gave me a tissue and gave me a few minutes.. I eventually told him my fears of having bowel cancer and that I thought I had it! He

Bowel Cancer
Bowel Cancer is a big killer of older men. The NHS provides screening for bowel cancer and home testing kits are available to all men and women aged 60-74. The kit is looking for FOB or faecal occult blood. In a nutshell, the test looks for blood hidden in your pooh. This can be an early sign of bowel

Does anyone know why Lactulose is not recommended for IBS sufferers?
Hi, I've just been reading the NICE guidelines for IBS and came across this: "Laxatives should be considered for the treatment of constipation in people with IBS, but people should be discouraged from taking lactulose. [2008]" Does anyone know why this is? The reason I ask is I've suffered from chronic

Subcutaneous vs Intramuscular injections?
I am looking for information that explores the benefits of subcutaneous vs intramuscular injections. I self inject, subcutaneously with a needless pen. Is there any scientific information out there? I was diagnosed with PA nine months ago and six weeks ago decided I needed more regular B12. I inject

Colofac or Buscopan ?
Which do you find helps with your IBS cramps & pains the best, I am not sure either helps me, I think peppermint oil sometimes takes the edge of it a bit.

Ovarian cancer after bowel cancer?
Hi ladies, I'm new here, and really need some advice. Exactly 1 year ago I was diagnosed with early stage bowel cancer (aged 38), it was an adenocarcinoma in the sigmoid colon. Half my bowel was removed, and no further treatment was needed. However, since my op, I've suffered months of lower abdominal

Drained and losing weight
Hi hope your all well. Its just a query to see if anyone else has experienced what is going on with me at moment. I have had diarrhoea now for 3 and a half weeks, at first I was obviously told to stop taking lactulose, to see if it would clear up, it didn't. I have had my bloods done and also given

Are they missing me?
Now I am in remission with no tumours what comes through the door but mammogram appointment and bowel cancer screening. Oncologist cheerfully says do the mammogram, - I could still get cancer there. Rang the hospital for the bowel to explain that I haven't got much bowel left after the surgery and hemicolectomy
