A Flare or Osteoarthritis?
I have problems understanding. I did not feel well when reducing from 10 mg to 8.75. The pain came back at night in my knee with osteoarthritis. My blood test yesterday showed no increase in inflammation levels. I have increased to 11.25 for three days. How is it possible to get pain again without inflammation

Hi all I have just had a comprehensive blood test done which included Thyroid. Having put my results in the thyroid calculator i wonder if anybody would interpret the results for me please? I’m not brilliant with maths! I can see they are not ideal, I’ve been feeling rubbish for months. Many Thanks

Prescribed Levothyroxine but I have no symptoms........
Hello, I am new to here and new to my diagnosis of Hashimoto disease. Basically I feel fit and healthy, have no symptoms of hypothyroidism, but a recent blood test indicated I have hypothyroidism. I am just wondering why I would take the medication if I am feeling fit and healthy with no symptoms

Rising CA125, feeling low
Since finishing chemo a year ago for stage 3 OC my CA125 has remained stable at between 6 and 9. I’ve just found out that it has increased to 23 from 6 a month ago. I am trying not to panic as I know it still in the normal range and I had a scan in July which was clear. However, I have been feeling

GP not worried about my drop in egfr?
Hello. Me again. Thanks for all of your replies last time I posted. I just had a text from my GP saying that she isn’t concerned about my drop form 67 egfr to 55. She has suggested that I do another fasted blood test though. Isn’t weird that she isn’t worried? I have still stopped eating meat apart from

Antibiotics and bloods
Hi all,I've had a UTI and I'm on antibiotics. I have my thyroid blood test tomorrow and I'm wondering whether to cancel until I'm off the antibiotics. As I'm wondering if this would interfere with results?

when 2 cardiologist tells you one thing and another tells you a it completely different issue or is it??
im very disappointed It seems out of the 3 cardiologists I have seen 2 had told me I had enlarged left ventricle and one even drawed me a diagram to show me where about the heart this was lower left side. I had a blood test done by Gp and BNP levels was raised she seemed alarmed and said there

hypothyroid and infection
does hypothyroidism affect healing? I’ve got an abscess skin not tooth and have had for the last 8 weeks. I’m currently on my third set of antibiotics. I am waiting for it to be removed which can only happen when the active infection has gone which I’ve been waiting on for 8 weeks. oral antibiotics

Cardiomyopathy after myocarditis?
I was diagnosed with myocarditis 6 weeks ago after blood test showed elevated troponin levels, infection and angiogram showed my arteries were clear. Had echo showing inflammation. Stayed in hospital for 5 nights and began taking colchicine, which I'm still taking. Felt well upon leaving hospital, but

Hi all, Not been on here for a few weeks due to feeling exhausted. I've managed to complete the Active B12 test (thank you Richmond nursing in Llanelli) for fitting me in for the blood draw. I waited with baited breath for my test results to be put on my Medichecks account and I was so shocked when

Yellow fingers
My liver enzymes ALT AST are slightly elevated up and down for about 4 years now. No cause has been found. Ultrasounds and fibroscans were all okay and other blood test values are okay too. I don’t drink alcohol, take no drugs, I don’t smoke (never did) and I eat moderately. But for about four years

Amazing!
Following bad chest infection late last/ early this year had chest x ray. Turns out I have enlarged heart, which apparently showed up on the previous x ray taken early 2023 but nobody mentioned it then.😡 However heart failure has been mentioned but blood test was clear, I think? Dr referred me to

Proposed Royal Mail Service Changes
This is not strictly thyroid related but might be of interest and concern to those who use home blood test services, order their meds online via RM delivery. I hope the admins will permit it.
