Cardiomyopathy after myocarditis?

I was diagnosed with myocarditis 6 weeks ago after blood test showed elevated troponin levels, infection and angiogram showed my arteries were clear. Had echo showing inflammation. Stayed in hospital for 5 nights and began taking colchicine, which I'm still taking. Felt well upon leaving hospital, but a week after being discharged started to have strange symptoms- very cold, pale feet, very pale hands, face. Had pins and needles in hands. Had scheduled follow-up cardiac MRI 4 days after these symptoms first began and report stated no evidence of ongoing inflammation or of cardiomyopathy. However symptoms haven't improved and I've started to get palpitations while sleeping and noticed some fluid build up around my ankles in the evening. I feel unwell and look extremely pale and unwell, much more so than when I was leaving hospital after apparently having recovered from myocarditis. I've had a follow up appointment with cardiologist and he's not concerned. My question is if it's possible that I've sustained damaged to my heart which wasn't picked up on MRI or if anyone has had a similar experience? Can cardiomyopathy develop after inflammation or does it only develop when heart is inflamed? Would appreciate any input.

I wonder if whatever infection caused the myocarditis is still present and making you feel unwell. Was it Covid related?

My understanding is that a cardiac MRI is able to assess the ejection fraction ie is the heart pumping properly - and see if there are any areas of the heart muscle which are inflamed, so it is very unlikely that you symptoms are from a cardiac problem.

Are you on any other medication such as a beta blocker which will give you side effects of cold extremities?

Colchicine can also give you a range of side effects including numbness and tingling, fatigue, muscle weakness , pale or gray lips , tongue or palms and others so I wonder if this is not the cause of your feeling unwell.

You need to discuss this with your GP or practice nurse

Thank you very much for your helpfulness in replying. I tested negative for COVID in hospital. They couldn't tell what virus it was although surmised it may have been EB virus as I had antibodies for it. Colchicine is the only medication I'm taking at present. I've returned to the GP and the cardiologist and none of them could explain my symptoms. I will be receiving another echo in 6 weeks time. It's going to feel like a very long wait, but hopefully it'll give me a clean bill of cardiac health.

Again, many thanks for your kindness in taking the time to respond.

Kind Regards.
