Yellow fingers

My liver enzymes ALT AST are slightly elevated up and down for about 4 years now. No cause has been found. Ultrasounds and fibroscans were all okay and other blood test values are okay too. I don’t drink alcohol, take no drugs, I don’t smoke (never did) and I eat moderately. But for about four years now I have yellow fingers. My eyes are white and other parts of my body have normal color. It’s just the fingers that are sometimes almost bright yellow. My bilirubin levels are ok too. Is there anybody who experiences the same oddity? Like yellowing of the fingers? Could this be caused by liver? Could there be a connection between elevated enzymes and yellow skin?

I have no personal knowledge and could only speculate, but for what it is worth, this is what the AI gods say about it

Yellow skin without jaundice can be caused by several factors, including:

1. **Carotenemia**: High levels of carotene from consuming excessive amounts of carrots, sweet potatoes, or other orange/yellow vegetables can lead to a yellowish tint in the skin.

2. **Dietary Factors**: A diet low in certain nutrients or high in specific foods can affect skin color.

3. **Certain Medications**: Some medications can cause changes in skin pigmentation.

4. **Skin Conditions**: Conditions like psoriasis or eczema may cause discoloration.

5. **Genetic Factors**: Some individuals may have a natural variation in skin tone that appears yellowish.

6. **Dehydration**: Severe dehydration can sometimes lead to changes in skin color.

7. **Liver Issues**: While jaundice is a common sign of liver dysfunction, other liver problems may not present with jaundice but can still affect skin color.

If yellow skin persists or is accompanied by other symptoms, it's important to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis.

Hi! Thanks a lot! Probably it’s the first option. I eat a lot of tomatoes and red pappers so this is very likely the cause. Also, no one else replied so I guess this isn’t related to liver. I’m so grateful for this community🧡
