Is ALT normally tested with LFT/Liver blood tests?
I had LFTs/ liver
blood
tests
done but no ALT included. Is this normal or should it be ordered additionally? Thanks

Update about my CKD
He advised me to lose weight, to have a plant-based diet, to be careful not to get diabetes and hypertension and in a little while to have a kidney scan and
blood
tests
again. He gave me courage to try to improve my health and that everything will be fine if I follow it.

The MRI of head showed bulky pituitary but hormone
blood
tests
normal . Have tried indomethacin and recently candastartan which I had to stop as it caused angiodema . Neurologist said maybe try lithium next but she’s not sure it’s hypnic headache as didn’t respond to caffeine .

hi everyone
Each time I went back to the doctor to get fresh
blood
tests
as I was convinced that was the moment I had destroyed my liver. I now have an official diagnosis of alcoholic on my medical record. I should never have been so honest but was scared and wanted help.

Advice on referred blood tests
As per my recent post, a GP (not my usual) is on the band wagon to reduce my levothyroxine due to a suppressed TSH. This became suppressed a few years ago when I tried T3, although I've always been towards the top of range (until now it seems) and it made no difference, so I stopped it. My usual GP

vitamin B12 high
hi , have just had my
blood
tests
results back had to have them done because I take statins and metformin. My vitamin b 12 has come back at 746 which apparently is abnormal, as anyone else had high vitamin B readings when taking statins or metformin ?

Worth switching meds?
I have no idea if the Peg would help control this belly bloat, so it's a risk, along with more frequent
blood
tests
and consults. I suppose I'm asking if it's worth the meds change. Love to hear from those who made the changeover. Incidentally, I'm almost 72, but still figure/weight conscious.

Phone 111 or 999
But I phoned 111 , Thats what they are there for and they immediately sent an ambulance and took me to hospital where they did
blood
tests
and ECG. Came back fine, ie no new HA I then started to apologise to the doctors, nurse and the ambulance people for wasting their time.

Further delays in next Ocrevus infusion
Bottom line, be diligent about
blood
tests
prior to Ocrevus infusion so that your immune system remains capable of protecting you from the nasty infections going around.

Collagen and biotin
I'm experiencing hair thinning /lose, assumably menopause as all
blood
tests
fine (GPs advice was to take hair, skin, nails vitamins) and was thinking of taking either collagen (this seems a complete mindfield as there's so many different ones) or biotin.

Advice re: ‘widespread portal hypertensive gastropathy’ following gastroscopy.
He also had high liver enzyme results following
blood
tests
. Was referred for CT scan of stomach/pelvis & gastroscopy. He has also been referred for a Fibro Scan due to concerns that he has cirrhosis with advanced fibrosis. Still waiting for a date for that.

Just starting the journey…..
She ran 2 sets of
blood
tests
a week apart and my inflammation markers were through the roof. She diagnosed PMR and started me on 15mg of Prednisone. This really did not much and I was back to her in a few days.

A Search for Underlying Causes
Hello, How many of you have taken the journey for underlying causes via

and hormones and nutrition? We refuse to live with medicating the seizures as the only solution and are looking for people who have taken this journey and what they have discovered.

Is anyone here familiar with metabolomic analysis?
In short, if I understood correctly, it differs from regular
blood
tests
by looking for the concentration of things (like amino acids, minerals, polyphenol, etc...) within your cells rather than the concentration in your blood.

Megloblastic anemia again
I got
blood
tests
done every week. I usually do 2 injections of b12 per week for past 6 months. During my sickness I only did 2 out 8 shots. My last 2
blood
tests
showed megloblastic anemia. Could I be b12 deficient again? Does it happen that quick or maybe the sickness took all my reserves?
