Doctor sent me to blood tests. The marker Ca125 was within limits, and He4 was elevated to 270 pmol. It has been 9 months since then. Ca 125 remains below the limit, He4 increased to 335 pmol, free fluid is present. Ct showed no changes in the abdominal cavity. I have diagnostic surgery in a month. Has anyone had a similar case and how accurate is the mentioned He4 actually?I don't even know what to expect and I'm already freaking out because it's been going on for so long.
I wish you all the best from all of my heart.❤️

Hi Tina, I'm sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time, I'm afraid I've no experience of your particular issue and I've not heard of a blood test called He4 here in Ireland. I just want to wish you well, the CT is very promising for sure so hopefully all will turn out well for you, best of luck
HE4 (human epididymis protein 4) is another tumor marker found blood that can be used to monitor some kinds of ovarian cancer. In some cases it is even more sensitive than the CA125. It's used mostly for monitoring recurrence or disease progression.
I was hoping to see an update from you. It sounded like you may possibly be in the initial stages of diagnosis rather than a recurrence. Please know if you are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, we are here and can help you through it. I'm now a 19 year survivor of stage 3C high grade serous ovarian cancer. While it is a serous disease, please don't get hung up on the statistics. Like my dad told me when I was first diagnosed: I am a sample of one. Statistics don't apply to individuals. I was going to go into remission, be cured, or whatever independent of what a thousand cases show.
