over active thyroid due to nodules/ radiation therapy
Hi 👋 I’m asking if anyone has had radioactive therapy for over active thyroid, i would appreciate any advice and your experience of this please. I’ve just returned from thyroid clinic, after having had a scan and blood tests for overactive thyroid, I’ve been told I have numerous nodules on my thyroid

Feeling like something stuck in my throat on swallowing - any thoughts please
Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing ? I guess it is down to some issue in my thyroid - but there are no visual lumps externally, just this weird sensation on swallowing. It started in March . Three weeks ago I have had annual bloods by GP and as my TSH is suppressed

PSA 6 months after RT
Here is a review of a presentationby Dr. Ravi at ASCO 2023, regarding measuring the PSA at 6 months post radiation treatment, for all risk groups. He found that the 6-month post-RT PSA was highly prognostic of 5- and 10-year rates of metastasis free survival (MFS), Overall Survival (OS), and prostate

Bloating and thyroxine hormone absorption
Would bloating of the digestive system after some liquid medication I have been given for an infection affect the T4 tablet absorbtion? I am also avoiding lactose and have noticed an improvement in the absorption but I have not managed gluten at the moment due to trying to recover. I know T4 is absorbed

Since my menopause I feel like my T3 is needing upped. Any advice on my recent blood tests?
My t.s.h was sitting at about 7.9 and I'm not feeling at my optimal. Usually my T.s.h is in between 2.5 -4.5 ish. Since menopause and getting older I feel I definitely need an upped dose! Any advice from those with t3 experience. My T4 is low at 4ish and my t3 is high because of my treatment at 8ish

Cancelled Blood Test
My 3 monthly blood test was cancelled due to the cyber attack at Guy’s Hospital. I am currently on 11mg Pred and 15mg Methotrexate once a week. I am told that blood tests will not be able to be resumed for another month. This would mean a 4 month gap between tests, also I will be on holiday in July

IGF-1 Blood Test
I have had the results of my IGF-1 blood test. It’s 26.4nmol/L. The endo has said he thinks it’s because I’m over medicated with my thyroid medication. He’s arranged an OGTT. I’m currently on 75mcg T4 and 10mcg T3. I recently lowered the dose from 100mcg/10mcg. I had been on that dose for a long time

blood test needed
Quick question group - is it good practice to get a GP blood test (stating NO to B12 test as of IM) yearly for someone with AG PA? (Also take complex B12 supplements so being conscious about skewing results). What bloods should I ask for ? The usual group ? Many thanks

Results of my blood tests
My GP rang on Friday as promised to tell me all my blood tests were normal, so he didn't know why I was losing appetite & weight.I told him I had asked my Forum friends if they had lost weight on buprenorphine & the answer was "yes", with a few exceptions. He thinks the buprenorphine is therefore the

Increased fT4 concentrations in patients using levothyroxine without complete suppression of TSH
Authors: Heleen I Jansen et al . 2023 https://ec.bioscientifica.com/view/journals/ec/12/4/EC-22-0538.xml I found this study ....it's not from endocrinologists , it was done by Lab researchers

Which medicine is messing with my thyroid med uptake
Might anyone be able to suggest which of my other meds has affected my thyroid med uptake (100mcg thyroxine and 2x5mcg t3)? I was prescribed digoxin, furosemide and bisoprolol after having open heart surgery 3 mths ago to resolve some anatomical defects. Uptil that point thyroid levels were stable

40+ years of Exhausting Fibro!!
Hi everyone, I have not been on this forum for a long time now due to declining health and numerous personal stuff (all pretty traumatic/stressful unfortunately!) Anyway, in early February this year I developed a really painful right arm/shoulder that I felt wasn't fibro-related. Local chiropractor said

I have had my Liothyronine changed from 10mcg daily to having to take 10mcg one day, then 5mcg the next day .
I have no thyroid .I presently take 75 mcg Levo and 10mcg Liothyronine and have felt well on that dose (I have no symptoms that suggest I am over medicated) But my FT3 was 8.5 - because there was only about an hour between me taking my Thyroid medications and the clinic taking bloods for a Thyroid

is this subclinical hypothyroidism?
Hi, Any guidance would be much appreciated please… this is all new to me. I managed to persuade my GP that I have symptoms of hashimotos and to humour me a TSH test , T4 /T3 and anti TPO blood test was done. However the bloods were done at 10:30am, I’ve been having biotin in my multi vitamin and drank

T3 equivalent of NDT
Hello A very clever person on here worked out the likely mcg of T3 & T4, contained in 3.5 grains of NDT from Thailand. Unfortunately I've mislaid the post. I'm seeing my endo on Wednesday and I want to understand why he put me on such low doses of Synthetic T3 & T4 for eight weeks. The new blood tests

Hello friends, what do you know about Liquid biopsy of circulating tumor ctDNA? Is it usefull with 6.2 PSA ? Depending on the results do we get access to some novel drugs like olapariv or nivolumab, etc, that might help us ? 🫠thanks, Manilo.
