Blood cancer - myleodysplasia
Does anyone else have myleodysplasia, and do you get any symptoms. My red blood cells are larger than normal and was told by Neuro Surgeon to have six monthly blood tests to ensure white blood cells did not become infected. I have no symptoms myself but wondered how many others have this condition.Sallywag

Will a COVID (or flu) vaccination affect my blood results?
If the vaccination affects blood results - how many days after the vaccination should I wait before doing a "regular
blood
cancer
blood
test"? 7 days? 14? 30? That's assuming I'm flexible with setting up appointments and I'm not skipping any tests/consultations.

I have and been told it's standard for anyone with
blood
cancer
flying with them. I've formally complained but I've not had a response. I'm thinking of going to BBC radio 4 programme to see if they are interested in the story.

I also have a

and take hydroxicarbamide. My side effects have been getting worse with pain in several bone areas, headaches, terrible brain fog and generally feeling awful. Of course no libido! QoL is non existant.

I will be well....
My IBS started after an 8 month round of chemotherapy for an early
blood
cancer
. I've been cancer free for 10 years now and IBS is the only consequence, so i am fortunate. That said, IBS-D stinks (pun intended). I've tried everything imaginable for my IBS.

Spring Covid Vaccines Reply .
thank you all so much for your varied and helpful replies and to Andy T for the link to
Blood
Cancer
UK’s information. It looks like it might be advisable to have the vaccination but I’m going to ask first if it will be the Pfizer one as I will refuse it if it’s Moderna.

Free Covid Rapid Lateral Flow Test
None of my local pharmacy stores issue these tests free-of-charge under the NHS but are happy to charge £13 each, even for
blood
cancer
patients. Has anyone else experienced this dilemma?
