Blood test results

Hi everyone,

I have my results below and appt with dr on 17/06 as he wants to talk about my thyroid. Im taking NDT (thyroid -s) x 5 per day. My thyroid results seem to be the same as before and time before that so Im not massively worried. I think Im perimenopausal (angry/annoyed. Periods all over the place) but other than that Im doing ok. Weight loss not happening but not thyroid tired which is nice!

I do have concerns as my body is changing and would like to deal with that. I know I have to really look after myself which Im not doing. I have a full time job and it's stressful. Any advice greatly appreciated :)

TSH - < 0.008 (0.35- 4.94)

FT4 -13.4 (9.00-19.00)

FT3 - 4.2 (2,5 - 6.00)

HbA1c -32 (20.00 - 14.00)( I get the shakes if i dont eat)

Serum B12 - 433 (190-883)

Serum Folate - 8.9 (3.10- 20.50)

Serum Iron - 55 (15.00 - 200.00)

Cortisol: 357 nmol/L (no range- bloods done at 09.40)

Serum LH - 4.5 iu/L

Serum FSH - 3.3 Iu/L

What vitamin supplements are you taking

No vitamin D result

B12 aim to maintain at least over 500

And folate

A daily vitamin B complex to maintain good levels

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus B complex popular option. Nice small tablets. Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose

Post discussing different B complex

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule) Thorne can be difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12

Iron also on low side, look at increasing iron rich foods in your diet

Hi Slow Dragon,

Sorry for such a late response.

Im not on any vits at the moment.

I've just had a tel apt with my GP who is freaking out about my suppressed TSH. I explained that my FT3 and FT4 are within range but he wants to know how much NDT I'm on and will send details to an endo who may want to see me, depending. Im not sure how to calculate this? Thyroid S 60 mg 5 tabs a day.

GP mentioned he cant comment on my LH/FSH because my pituatary gland is suppressed (pretty sure im peri menopausal).

Anyway, the endo team is under Duncan Brown at Treliske and I wanted to get some info from others about him and his team. Should i post again asking the group?
