I’m answering your question with a few questions and their answers may make things apparent.
1) Do you wish for annual blood tests to MONITOR your PA ?
2) You had Autoimmune Gastritis diagnosed by Endoscopy, did you also have a gastrin blood test ?
3) Do you keep a symptoms diary or tracker ?
4) You have a thalassaemia trait which should be on your Medical Records. I do not know which gene combination and whether that requires monitoring and/or treatment.
1. I think I would like to make sure nothing else is triggered by the PA auto immune, so yes. I’ve already had the IF positive antibody confirmed and vv low b12.
2. I don’t think I had a gastrin blood test. Just the endoscopy to confirm AGPA via a gastric biopsy. Is there another name for this blood tests? I can check the medical names.
3. I used to track for the first year. But now know if I leave the b12 IM more than a week or so excessive exercise or work travelling I get weak, dizzy, fizzy, irritable, memory issues etc.
4. Correct - amazing research and memory - it’s just a beta trait, no treatment - so every full blood count shows slightly lower haemoglobin. No idea if there is any linkage. PA has larger blood cells / thalassaemia smaller blood cells !
